Disney Animation's Academy Award-winning animated comedy "Zootopia" takes a serious turn in CineFix's interpretation of the film as a crime-thriller.

Using clever editing and dark musical themes, the faux-trailer portrays officer Judy Hopps' journey as a gritty mystery, filled with suspense. Ordinarily, "Zooptia" is a lighthearted cop comedy -- but throw in a couple shots of snarling animals, accompanied by ominous tones, and you have a whole different movie.

While the film was never meant to be so dark, it definitely could have been darker. In an interview with the producer Clark Spencer, he revealed that the lead character was originally meant to be Nick, the cynical fox played by Jason Bateman.

Upon its release last year, the film grossed over $1 billion globally at the box office. In addition to winning the Oscar for "Best Animated Feature Film," it received numerous accolades at the Annie Awards, held last month.
