The city of Flint, Michigan, is under attack from a zombie outbreak in a new Killadelphia spinoff series, 20 Degrees Past Rigor.

CBR has an exclusive look at 20 Degrees Past Rigor, a new series from writer Rodney Barnes, artist Maan House, colorers Luis NCT and Mar Silvestre and letterer Marshall Dillon. 20 Degrees Past Rigor is set in the same universe as Killadelphia, a series that launched in 2019 from Image Comics. "The world of Killadelphia expands further still!" Barnes previously posted on Substack. "This time we’re in Flint, Michigan where zombies are feasting on folks that don’t take that type of thing lightly!"

The first issue of 20 Degrees Past Rigor is being showcased on Substack for Free Comic Book Day, along with a mix of other full-length comics and short stories from the platform's top creators. The preview sees two young children walk out of their home in Flint to go play down by a nearby river. While there, the two are attacked by some sort of zombified fish that bites the young boy. He returns home as an undead monster, followed closely by his now headless and also undead sister.

Killadelphia is a series written by Barnes that recently released its 21st issue. The synopsis for the series reads, "When a small-town beat cop comes home to bury his murdered father—the revered Philadelphia detective James Sangster Sr.—he begins to unravel a mystery that leads him down a path of horrors that will shake his beliefs to their core. The city that was once the symbol of liberty and freedom has fallen prey to corruption, poverty, unemployment, brutality… and vampires."

The Killadelphia Universe previously expanded with Nita Hawes’ Nightmare Blog, a spinoff that launched in 2021 and follows Sangster as he encounters demons in Baltimore. "Nita Hawes Nightmare Blog is pure horror in the classical sense of the word," Barnes previously said. "Its roots are in the tradition of the classic horror films and novels I've loved throughout my life. I'm incredibly excited to see how fans take to the story." Artist Jason Shaw Alexander added, "Nita Hawes' Nightmare Blog is the perfect conduit for us to explore all matter of things that go bump or scream in the night. This is kick-ass horror with crazy amazing talent behind it.”

20 Degrees Past Rigor will continue this summer. For more information on the series, visit Barnes' Substack.
