In the first trailer for Zombieland: Double Tap, several new characters debuted alongside returning cast members Woody Harrelson (Tallahassee), Jesse Eisenberg (Columbus), Abigail Breslin (Little Rock) and Emma Stone (Wichita). New photos from the film show the original cast interacting with these new characters.

New characters joining the film include a seemingly ditzy girl named Madison (Zoey Deutch) and the gun-wielding Nevada (Rosario Dawson). The promo images also include a poster of the cast holding weapons, with the film's release date at the bottom.

Zombieland: Double Tap continues the adventures of Tallahassee, Columbus, Little Rock and Wichita as they travel through a world full of zombies. This time, it looks like they will take refuge at the White House. In the 10 years since we last saw the group, some zombies have evolved into even more dangerous creatures.

According to the official synopsis,

A decade after Zombieland became a hit film and a cult classic, the lead cast (Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone) have reunited with director Ruben Fleischer (Venom) and the original writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Deadpool) for Zombieland: Double Tap. In the sequel, written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and Dave Callaham, through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, these four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.

Ruben Fleischer will return as the film's director, with Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and Dave Callaham penning the script. The film is set to release on October 18.
