As we approach the tenth anniversary of Zombieland, the writers of the film, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Deadpool 2) have confirmed that the sequel is in production, additionally, some details about the film's plot have also surfaced. Zombieland's sequel is reportedly titled Zombieland Too.

The original film, starring Jesse Eisenberg (Columbus), Emma Stone (Wichita), Woody Harrelson (Tallahassee), and Abigail Breslin (Little Rock) and chronicled their adventures heading across the country amidst a veritable zombie apocalypse in an effort to find safe haven in Los Angeles.

According to a story on Splash Report, sequel is reportedly going to take advantage of the years that have passed since the first installment, integrating the real world break between films into the plot. During this time, zombies have almost entirely died out -- sort of. The franchise's main quartet of protagonists will encounter a new species of "super zombies" that are much larger, stronger, and more destructive than their first-wave counterparts. These super zombies are impervious to all physical damage, apart, of course, from a bullet to the head.

The film's original main cast is slated to return for the sequel, which is expected to hit theaters around the tenth anniversary of Zombieland: October, 2019. Ruben Fleischer will also be returning to direct.
