There are many characters in the Black Clover world, all with unique personalities and abilities. This looks at the zodiac signs of the colorful cast of characters so you can see which Black Clover character you share a sign with.
Adapted by Studio Pierrot during the fall 2017 season, Black Clover is an ongoing anime series with over 100 episodes. The series follows Asta and Yuno, two boys from a small village who both want to become the Wizard King. Yuno shows magical prowess possessing a four-leaf clover grimoire, an anomaly to the normal three-leaf. Asta possesses no magic power and an even rarer five-leaf grimoire.
12 Aquarius (January 20 – February 18): Kiato (February 4)
Kicking off the list with the beginning of the calendar year is Kiato. Residing in the Grand Magic Zone, Kiato lives undersea. He uses Butoh (Japanese type of dance) Magic, a magic that allows him to cast spells through dance such as Sea God Slash. The Aquarius sign is symbolized by the water bearer, perfect for Kiato.
Aquariuses tend to be progressive in nature always seeking advancement. This applies to Kiato as he is always improving himself and his dance trying to become stronger.
11 Pisces (February 19 – March 20): Sally (March 17)
Sally is a member of the Eye of the Midnight Sun, a group with goals to destroy the Clover Kingdom. She uses Gel Magic, which allows her to create gel-like substances. This can be replicas of tools or animals such as a Salamander seen in the anime.
Pisces are known for the intuition. Sally possesses great intuition which comes from her love for experiments and analyzing. She recognizes that there is something special about Asta and agrees to an alliance with the Clover Kingdom to perform experiments on him.
10 Aries (March 21 - April 19): Magna Swing (April 7)
Magna is a member of the Black Bulls and is has one of the more fiery personalities of the squad. Like Asta and Yuno, Magna was born in a small village. The village of Rayaka was all surprised to see Magna become a magic knight.
Magna uses Fire Magic allowing him to manipulate fire. Aries, being a fire sign known for their explosive personalities, matches Magna’s personality.
9 Taurus (April 20 – May 20): Sol Marron (May 13)
Sol Marron is a member of the Blue Rose squad. Saved by Blue Rose squad’s captain Charlotte Roselei when she was young, it’s not surprising to see she joined the same squad. Sol uses Earth Magic which allows her to manipulate the power of the earth.
Tauruses are known for their stubborn personality which Sol shows. She always calls Charlotte by Char despite many times being asked not to throughout the series.
8 Gemini (May 21 – June 20): Charmy Pappitson (June 3)
Charmy Pappitson is a member of the Black Bulls and known for her large appetite. Being able to possess two magic powers, Charmy can use both Cotton Magic and Food Magic.
Cotton Magic allows her to generate cotton shapes, as well as sheep. Food Magic allows her to consume other types of magic as food and manifest it into her own magic. Gemini’s are known to be affectionate in nature which can be seen whenever Charmy is near Yuno.
7 Cancer (June 21 – July 22): Lily Aquaria (July 2)
Lily Aquaria, known as Sister Lily in Hage Village, assisted in Asta and Yuno’s upbringing as kids. Lily uses Water Magic which allows her to manipulate water. Many times has she had to use her magic on Asta growing up.
Lily is a Cancer, and like Cancers, she is loyal and sympathetic. Rejecting Asta’s marriage requests and staying loyal to the church as well as still having a soft spot for him when seeing him try his best.
6 Leo (July 23 – August 22): Mereoleona Vermillion (July 26)
Mereoleona Vermillion is part of the Vermillion royal family and former captain of the Crimson Lion Magic Knights. She uses Fire Magic, but at a much stronger level than Magna. Leo’s show passion for things they care about and the same can be said about Mereoleona.
She is passionate about seeing other Magic Knights improve evident in the training she led them through.
5 Virgo (August 23 – September 22): Mimosa Vermillion (August 26)
Mimosa Vermillion is also part of the Vermillion Royal Family but is a member of the Golden Dawn. Mimosa has an opposite personality to Mereoleona being less aggressive in nature. Mimosa is a healer and uses Plant Magic to tend to anyone who needs care.
The hardworking Virgo just wants to match the diligence she sees Asta putting out and be the best she can be.
4 Libra (September 23 – October 22): Asta and Yuno (October 4)
The two boys from Hage Village are both Libras that share the same birthday. Asta at first doesn’t think he has any magic but really possesses anti-magic using demonic swords to counter traditional magic spells.
Yuno uses Wind Magic and is accompanied by Sylph, a wind spirit he named Bell. The two boys match a Libra’s drive as they both aim to become the Wizard King.
3 Scorpio (October 23 – November 21): Noelle Silva (November 15)
Noelle Silva is part of the Silva Royal Family and a member of the Black Bulls. Noelle was exiled at a young age by her family because of her lack of control for her magic. She uses Water Magic and was able to become a powerful Magic Knight under the Black Bulls harnessing control over the Sea Dragon’s Roar.
Noelle is a Scorpio meaning she’s resourceful, but also the jealous type. However, this isn’t a negative characteristic as it fits her tsundere personality well.
2 Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21): Zora Ideale (December 19)
Initially referred to as Xerx Lugner in the Royal Knights Selection Exam, Zora Ideale is a member of the Black Bulls. Zora uses Ash Magic, a unique type of magic that allows him to manipulate ash into shields or various attacks.
Sagittariuses are idealistic in nature which fits Zora because, prior to becoming a Magic Knight, he had his opinions on how battle should be done.
1 Capricorn (January 20 – February 18): William Vangeance (December 24)
Rounding out the list is the captain of the Golden Dawn, William Vangeance. William is likely to become the next Magic Emperor with his World Tree Magic. It allows him to manipulate the trees around him making them grow to the size of cities.
William is a Capricorn and matches the responsible and disciplined traits that Capricorns are known for, even when provoked by the Black Bulls captain Yami Sukehiro.
