Cancer is the fourth sign in the zodiac chart and the first of the water signs. They are born between June 21 and July 22, with their symbol of the crab perfectly expressing some of the typical traits the sign exemplifies. Every zodiac sign is said to have a set list of qualities and traits to make them all unique from the other signs. Every water sign, between Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio, are all different.

Because of these different personalities, every sign would enjoy (and sometimes dislike) movies and different forms of media for different aspects, varying on the sign. Anime movies have become a vastly popular form of media over the last decade with a number of films for fans of anime to enjoy.

10 Love: Howl's Moving Castle

Howl's Moving Castle is sure to become a Cancer's favorite movie shortly after seeing it. The romance behind this film and the dedication Howl and Sophie have for one another would surely break through the hard exterior of the Cancer and touch their heart. This film is incredibly whimsical as well, which will give Cancers the feeling like they are being whisked off to a fantastical world on a brilliant adventure with the characters.

9 Hate: 5 Centimeters Per Second

This movie will not be good for a Cancer for a number of reasons. The prime effect this movie has is giving its viewers a sense of nostalgia but in the worst ways. Instead of thinking back on their past experiences and happy days, the nostalgia this movie conveys is that of missed opportunities and regret. It also features some unrequited love and, worse, unsaid feelings. While this film is truly beautiful visually, Cancers would definitely feel the pain of a love that has resurfaced too late by the end of the film.

8 Love: Summer Wars

Anime Summer Wars blushing scene

Summer Wars has it all; romance, action, adventure, family ties, everything Cancers look for and love. Cancers will enjoy this movie greatly due to the fun nature of the overall film, while it also deals with more complex issues such as a death in the family and fear. Something Cancers will love about this film is the fact that it forces the world to band together in order to defeat a great evil that is threatening humanity. This scene will pull at the heartstrings of Cancers who are emotionally tied to their family and friends.

7 Hate: Kiki's Delivery Service

Cancers may like Kiki's Delivery Service at the beginning of the film but once the climax hits, Cancers are sure to feel left a little more than unsatisfied. Kiki is a young who is trying to find her place in the world along with her trusty familiar and friend, Jiji.

It is Jiji's arc in this film that will set Cancers off. Near the halfway mark of this film, Kiki begins to lose her powers which also causes her to lose her ability to communicate with Jiji. It is the denial of the fantastical that will make Cancers feel uneasy about the film, especially with the ending. Even though Kiki gets her powers back, she is never able to speak to Jiji again and he just becomes a regular cat.

6 Love: Sword Of The Stranger

Cancers will love this film due to their connection to the main character, the stranger. They will be able to see themselves in him. Even though he is rough around the edges, the ronin is ultimately extremely caring and is constantly willing to risk his life to protect the young boy and his dog as they journey to safety. Even though the nameless ronin has sworn to never draw his sword again, he knows what must be done in order to protect the boy.

5 Hate: Your Name

While some Cancers would be inclined to love this film due to its romantic and complex nature, many would find it incredibly frustrating due to that same complexity. The constant struggle the characters face to save one another and learn each other's names may be a bit frustrating for a cancer, a hopeless romantic who would much rather see a fluffy romance movie, to see. Also, the fact that the characters keep forgetting one another may not sit well with the crab of the zodiac.

4 Love: A Silent Voice

A Silent Voice characters standing together

This film will hit cancers on a deep emotional level that they thrive on. A Silent Voice deals with a ton of deep and tough social issues such as suicide, disabilities, and bullying and how each of these effects multiple people around the main characters and the characters themselves.

Shoko and Shoya, the two protagonists are both extremely troubled by their youths and how things were handled, constantly blaming themselves. Cancers will love this film due to the growth both of them exhibit throughout the movie and the beautiful conclusion to it.

3 Hate: Wolf Children

Some Cancers may love this film, but the majority will find it a bit disheartening and too sad to watch. The film begins with a hopeful and beautiful romance that will draw Cancers totally in, as the hopeless romantics they are. The couple gets married and has two children together who share their father's wolf transformation. However, the film takes a sudden and quick turn when he is killed while hunting for the children. The majority of the film deals on the single mother's struggles to raise her children while grieving the loss of her love. Cancers may feel the emotions of this movie a little more than they would like.

2 Love: The Tale Of Princess Kaguya

Another painful yet beautiful film that may leave Cancers unsure of their feelings. Kaguya is the princess of the moon (and Cancers are ruled by the moon), unbeknownst to her. This movie holds a beautiful love story that, similar to 5 Centimeters Per Second, waiting too long to confess and admit your feelings and the consequences of lost opportunities, but with a much more rewarding display. But this film is more than just the romance, it also holds strong family ties that will resonate with Cancers. This film is sure to get Cancers in their feelings, but they will feel their sad feelings from this film are cathartic and sometimes needed.

1 Hate: Grave Of The Fireflies

Grave of the Fireflies Main Characters

This film may be a little too dark and sad for the common Cancer. It is set in World War II and follows a young boy and his baby sister who lose their parents in the war. They constantly are attempting to travel to safety but continue to face a number of unfortunate circumstances. The ending of this film will leave Cancers asking themselves why they signed up for two hours of sadness and sorrow for the character's misfortunes.
