'Zero Dark Thirty' Writer Takes a Shot at 'Uncharted'

Sony hasscored some Oscar-winning talent as its long-gestating video game adaptation Uncharted moves closer to production. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zero Dark Thirty writer Mark Boal has been hired to punch up the script.

Seth Gordon (The King of Kong, Horrible Bosses) signed on to direct early this year. In July he said they were looking to start filming "very early next year." Boal has been given a three-week time frame, which will still allow for the schedule.

Mark Wahlberg and Chris Pratt have both been attached to play the Indiana Jones-esque adventurer Nathan Drake, but both have moved on. At this point, the project has not snagged a star.

Uncharted is set to open June 10, 2016.
