From the classics versions to new releases, The Legend of Zelda franchise is full of songs and sounds that easily get stuck in the fan's head. From the first Zelda game played, it's hard to forget the distinct sound of opening a chest (and disappointing when fans realize the sound doesn't happen when opening anything in real life). And who can forget all the hiya's across the different games?

But along with the sounds, Zelda also has some fantastic soundtracks. From wandering around Kariko Village to the Clock Town in Majora's Mask, there is something for every fan of the LOZ.

10 "Hyrule Castle (Interior)" Ramps Up The Feeling Of Danger - Breath of the Wild

Inside Hyrule Castle in BOTW

Once Link steps foot into the Hyrule Castle in Breath of the Wild, it's both terrifying and incredible at the same time. The piano in the back of the song drives the intensity, making it feel like there's constant danger all around.

The interior version of this dungeon theme song feels more despairing than the exterior. After running around the castle for a few minutes, the music stays in the back of the player's mind for the remainder of the game.

Dark Palace setting from A Link to the Past

A Link to the Past is another Zelda game with two different dungeon sounds. In terms of getting stuck in the listener's head, the Dark Palace seems to have a step up over the Light World Dungeon.

With rapid march-like sounds echoing over the song, it creates a sense of urgency. The high-intensity song drives the feeling of wanting Link to run through this dungeon as fast as possible.

Lorule Castle from A Link Between Worlds

This song is a bit lighter in tune than others for a dungeon. While it is still intense, it feels more like the hero's marching off with confidence into battle. When advancing through the dungeon of Lorule Castle in A Link Between Worlds, it gradually picks up intensity, gaining a hype up for the final boss.

But the tune remains the same, even with the different variations. Even after the dungeon is completed and Link has moved on, it's a song that's hard to shake.

7 "Forest Temple" Recreates The Feeling Of Getting Lost - Ocarina of Time

Forest Temple from Ocarina of Time

This is what getting lost sounds like. Honestly, with a twisty temple like the Forest Temple in Ocarina of Time, it would make sense to have an equally lost-sounding song. And this dungeon does just that.

With the rattling sound constantly swirling in the player's ears, it's almost dizzying to hear over and over. And the intense background music that pokes its head through doesn't help either. It only adds to the confusion that surrounds this dungeon.

6 "Temple of Droplets" Leaves The Listener Feeling Like Time Is About To Run Out - The Minish Cap

Temple of Droplets from The Minish Cap

This dungeon has the same sounds play over and over again. That in itself is bound to replay in the player's mind. In The Minish Capthe Temple of Droplets plays the same chords repeatedly with varying intensity.

It creates an eerie feeling, almost like time is running out. While this song gets stuck in the player's head, it feels like the rest is missing.

5 "Forsaken Fortress" Gets Your Heart Racing - Wind Waker

Forsaken Fortress from Wind Waker

Trying to sneak around the Forsaken Fortress in Wind Waker with this song playing in the background is sure to get players' hearts racing. With moblins looking for you at every turn and noticing every move Link makes, that itself is enough to cause panic.

But when the marching beat of the song ties into the setting it's a new layer of stress. The thud of every step seems amplified. It sounds as if every beat is announcing every step Link takes.

4  "Stone Tower Temple" Follows You - Majora's Mask

Stone Tower Temple from Majoras Mask

Talk about spooky. The chanting in the back of the Stone Tower Temple's dungeon song in Majora's Mask is a little haunting. And the flute playing over seems to go against the dark undertones. But that's what makes it all the more catchy.

Hearing this right when entering the dungeon would send anyone running away. Even after leaving, it's as if the humming follows. The Stone Tower Temple does not have a song anyone wants to get stuck in their head late at night.

3 "Palace of Twilight"  Is Haunting - Twilight Princess

Palace of Twilight from Twilight Princess

In Twilight Princess, The Palace of Twilight is truly creepy, and the song doesn't help. With the haunting moan-like sounds, music that rolls like a wave, and chimes that play continuously over it all, it's an odd mixture.

The chimes of the song get stuck in the player's head even after leaving the dungeon. they're like a reminder of what's attacking or chasing Link within the dungeons.

Dungeon setting from The Adventure Of Link

For fans who have played The Adventure of Link, the dungeon song is one that still pops up into their heads years later. With an upbeat yet doomy underlying sound, this dungeon song reminds players of how frustratingly hard the game is.

Playing this song once is enough to get it stuck in anyone's head. But hearing it play with each dungeon except the last, it's just waiting to sink into the fan's head.

1 "Dungeon Theme" Is A Tangible Memory - Legend of Zelda

Dungeon setting from Legend of Zelda

As a classic, this sound is like pulling up an old memory once played that just can't be shaken off. For Legend of Zelda, the first Zelda game created, it's golden. At the time, it worked to intimidate the player.

Years later, it still does, but there's now a sense of nostalgia tied in with it. It may not be the most interesting one with only a few cords repeating, but it will play in the background of a fan's heads for days later.
