While it's been expected ever since Zazie Beetz was officially cast as Domino that she'd appear in the eventual X-Force movie, nothing had been confirmed -- though now a new report claims it's official.
A production listing sourced by That Hashtag Show appears to confirm that Beetz' Domino will return in the ensemble piece after being introduced in the upcoming Deadpool 2, where she'll appear alongside Josh Brolin as Cable and, of course, Ryan Reynolds as the titular Merc with a Mouth. Just last month it was reported that Beetz had signed a three-picture deal with 20th Century Fox, Deadpool 2 and X-Force would appear to leave only one project yet to be revealed.
CBR has reached out to Fox for comment, and has not received a response as of publication.
A recent trailer for the upcoming Deadpool sequel makes it very clear that the title character is assembling a team, and it'll indeed be called X-Force -- though it's unknown at this point what the roster will look like by the time the X-Force film comes around. In keeping with the comic book premise, the film is described as "a Black Ops force of down and dirty mutant warriors who are far more ruthless than their X-Men counterparts."
X-Force has entered pre-production with an eye on principal photography kicking off in October. The movie will be based on a screenplay by Drew Goddard, who is also set to direct the movie, with Reynolds on board as an executive producer. X-Men franchise vets Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner will also produce.
Deadpool 2 arrives in theaters May 18. Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, and Karan Soni as Dopinder, with newcomers Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Cable and Julian Dennison as Russell.
