Zack Snyder's Justice League will feature multiple concepts from the director's original vision, given that it will take place over the course of four hours. One of those characters is the mercenary Deathstroke, portrayed by Joe Manganiello.

Speaking with IGN, Snyder revealed that Deathstroke has entered into a partnership with Batman. "When we find him, clearly he and Batman have struck some sort of a deal and they have a bit of a partnership. There's a bigger enemy, I guess. They're not locked in mortal combat. They're actually working together to try to figure out how to make this world work."

Photos from behind the scenes of Zack Snyder's Justice League have shown Deathstroke with a radically different look -- including a mohawk and well-worn armor. Manganiello has said that there's an in-story reason for his look, and expressed gratitude that Snyder invited him back for reshoots. "I've had a lot of time to think about the character and work on the character for these various other incarnations that never happened. So there was a bit of coitus interruptus for four years. [Laughs.] But it was fun to be back, and it was fun to see Zack again. Putting that armor on again was just so awesome."

Manganiello was slated to portray Deathstroke in a Batman film helmed by Ben Affleck. However, Affleck ended up departing the project, and Matt Reeves instead presented an entirely new version with The Batman -- including Robert Pattinson stepping into the Dark Knight's helmet.
