Justice League's Zack Snyder has revealed a piece of concept art from his director's cut of the DC Extended Universe film, in which a certain Green Lantern pays a visit to one Bruce Wayne.

Shared to Snyder's Vero account, the artwork sees Green Lantern -- by all accounts, the John Stewart version -- descending upon Bruce Wayne's lakeside abode, the emerald aura surrounding him reflecting in the water below.

Snyder posted the concept art alongside a Joseph Campbell quote, which reads, "We're in a freefall into future. We don't know where we're going. Things are changing so fast, and always when you're going through a long tunnel, anxiety comes along. And all you have to do to transform your hell into a paradise is to turn your fall into a voluntary act. it's a very interesting shift of perspective and that's all it is... joyful participation in the sorrows and everything changes."

Those who have seen Zack Snyder's Justice League will know that there is, in fact, a scene at the end of the film in which a hero arrives at Bruce's lake house in this manner. However, in final version of the film, the hero who shows up to introduce himself to Bruce is Martian Manhunter, not Green Lantern.

The scene in question was originally filmed with actor Wayne T. Carr as John Stewart/Green Lantern. Carr's John Stewart actually would have been the second Green Lantern in the film, with an unnamed Emerald Knight having previously appeared as part of the flashback detailing Earth's original battle with Darkseid. However, John Stewart was ultimately cut from the movie and replaced with Martian Manhunter, played by Harry Lennix. Zack Snyder's Justice League reveals that the Last Son of Mars had been active on Earth under the guise of General Calvin Swanwick, whom Lennix played in Man of Steel.

Zack Snyder's Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ray Porter as Darkseid, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. The film is currently available on HBO Max.
