Director Zack Snyder didn't attend Comic-Con International in San Diego last year, but it appears as if the director of Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may be making a return this week.
The filmmaker revealed on the social-media platform Vero that he's staying at a hotel right near the San Diego Convention Center, and he's with producer Wesley Coller, who worked with him on several DC Extended Universe movies, as well as Watchmen. But if Snyder makes a "surprise" appearance at the convention, what will he be promoting?
Snyder is an executive producer on Aquaman and a producer on Wonder Woman 1984, confirmed as part of Warner Bros.' big Hall H presentation on Saturday. Considering that he cast Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jason Momoa as Aquaman for their introductions in Batman v Superman, it wouldn't be far-fetched to think he's attending to support those projects. Or, the director could even be at the convention to talk to fans about his next project, The Fountainhead.
I just came on here to let you all know that... ZACK SNYDER IS IN SAN DIEGO. I REPEAT. ZACK SNYDER IS IN SAN DIEGO.— Jesabel 🎃 (@JesabelRaay) July 15, 2018

However, many of the director's fans have their hearts set on the announcement of the fabled "Snyder Cut" of Justice League. Could they get what they've been asking for since the theatrical release? And if so, will it truly be Snyder's complete vision for Justice League, or an "ultimate edition" of Justice League that simply adds more of Snyder's material to Joss Whedon's theatrical cut?
Comic-Con International 2018 kicks off Wednesday with the traditional Preview Night, so fans may soon find out whether Snyder is indeed in attendance, and what project he's promoting.
