Snyder was responsible for bringing Affleck into the DCEU as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Although the casting garnered some controversy, the director has been clear that Affleck was his "perfect Batman."

Rumors from February suggested Warner Bros. was eyeing Pattinson to replace Affleck as Batman. However, most didn't consider him a frontrunner until recent reports suggested otherwise. The award-winning actor has received plenty of praise for his performances in 2014's The Rover and 2018's Good Time. Over the years, he has received awards for his work in the Twilight film franchise, Water for Elephants and Life.

At this time, little is known for sure about Reeves' The Batman. There are reports indicating Robin, Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman will play a role in the film. Additional details about Pattinson's contract suggest he might reprise his role in two future films.
