Zack Snyder admitted that he'd like to air  Zack Snyder's Justice League in episodic format, further adding to the mystery of how the long-awaited DCEU re-release will look.

During Saturday's Justice Con panel, Snyder was asked about the "series or movie" debate regarding how the Snyder Cut should be released on HBO Max. The director revealed that people would have to wait until DC FanDome to learn an answer, though he mentioned that "either way 100% [he'd] be happy" and "the truth is, regardless of how it comes out, you'll always be able to watch it" as a single program.

However, when pressed by a commentator about some DC fans' fears that Justice League's presentation would be compromised as a series, Snyder quickly admitted that the latter option would be better. Without elaborating further, he simply responded that "I'm not saying that's the way it's going to be, but I think it's very interesting."

Released in 2017, Justice League received mixed to negative reviews from critics for its narrative, pacing and inconsistent tone. For some fans, this critical failure felt like a result of Joss Whedon and Warner Bros. executives revising too much of the final product away from Synder's initial vision, as the director had been forced to step down due to a family tragedy. This led to a long-running social media campaign demanding that Warner Bros. release the Snyder Cut, eventually leading to an announcement that the long-rumored film would air on HBO's new streaming service.

Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. Zack Snyder's Justice League will premiere exclusively on HBO Max in early to mid-2021.
