It sounds like Zack Snyder might be done making comic book movies, now that he's finished his cut of the DC Extended Universe's Justice League film.

With Zack Snyder's Justice League streaming on HBO Max, the director sat down to discuss his upcoming projects in an interview with Deadline. Up next for Snyder is Army of the Dead, a zombie action/horror movie scheduled to being streaming on Netflix May 21. The director said he's also "trying to write" another film for the streaming giant, in addition to producing a German-language Army of the Dead prequel movie and the anime-style prequel series Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas. What's more, he hopes to shoot Horse Latitudes -- a drama about a wartime photographer that was previously titled The Last Photograph -- this summer, on top of "trying to stay on [the 'Army of the Dead'] franchise."

Snyder once again confirmed that Warner Bros. has no interest in making Justice League 2 with him, saying "that's 100% fine. I understand." When asked if there's a comic book property he's still hoping to adapt one day, Snyder replied, "Well, look, there are some comic books that I’m a fan [of], so there are comic books I love, you know? I’ve always wanted to do Frank Miller’s Dark Knight Returns and a couple others, but I don’t know. I’m just, I’m pretty happy with just kind of working, the movie that we just finished, but I don’t really have like a burning desire to make another comic book movie, I’ll say."

Beyond the aforementioned projects, Snyder has indicated he's working on a King Arthur movie, describing it as a "real sort of faithful retelling of that Arthurian mythological concept." However, he recently confirmed having moved his planned film adaptation of Ayn Rand's 1943 novel The Fountainhead to the back-burner. "[I] don’t know how that movie gets made, at least not right away," Snyder said. "We need a less divided country and a little more liberal government to make that movie, so people don’t react to it in a certain way."

Zack Snyder's Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ray Porter as Darkseid, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. The film is now streaming on HBO Max.
