Director Zack Snyder has announced that he will be hosting a Watch Party for his film Man of Steel on the social media platform, Vero.Snyder shared a poster for the event on Twitter, which said that the Watch Party would be held Wednesday, May 20 at 8 a.m. (PDT). The event will also feature a Q&A as well as a live commentary by Snyder. "Many of us are struggling during this difficult time," Snyder said. "Felt it could be cathartic to come together now for a Man of Steel Watch Party and celebrate the ultimate symbol of hope. Submit some questions, Iâll answer a few after."
Released in 2013, Man of Steel featured the first appearance of Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman. The film served as an origin story for the hero and included a number of popular characters from DC Comics, including Lois Lane, General Zod, Jonathan Kent, Martha Kent and Jor-El. Man of Steel performed well at the box office, though it received mostly mixed reviews from critics.
Snyder would later direct other films starring Superman, including 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017's Justice League. However, Snyder eventually stepped down from directorial duties on Justice League due to his daughter's death.
Currently, there is no official word about an upcoming Superman appearance in any future DC Extended Universe films.
