Director Zack Snyder has revealed he only added two scenes to his cut of Justice League during reshoots, having previously said he was only adding four to five minutes of new footage.

Speaking to ComicBook Debate, Snyder clarified he only added "two bits" to his cut of Justice League, including one that he "had really sorta hoped to shoot in [post-production] but never got the chance to" before he left the project in 2017 and was replaced by Joss Whedon. The other one is "that scene with Jared [Leto]," in which Leto reprises his role as The Joker from Suicide Squad. According to Snyder, "The rest of the four hours of the movie are really just what I shot."

Snyder went on to discuss how he was able to realize his original vision for Justice League during production despite his creative differences with Warner Bros., saying "The truth is I was in a struggle with the studio and famously we had a lot of stuff we had to do, we had to make it funny and all this stuff... And frankly, I just kinda, in a slightly subversive way, just kept also doing my thing at the same time, so that I would have what I believed would be closer to what I would want to do without any influence... I always kind of shoot that way anyway. I always try and shoot what I think is right."

Recently, Leto avoided confirming whether he had shot new material for Snyder's cut of Justice League, saying he would "let Zack confirm or deny that one," while also teasing a future collaboration with Snyder. Meanwhile, Joe Manganiello got a mohawk to shoot new material as Deathstroke, who only appeared in the post-credits scene for Justice League's theatrical edition. When asked, Manganiello indicated there's an in-story reason for Deathstroke's new hairdo in Snyder's cut, adding "There’s some Easter eggs involved with my return, and we definitely snuck some things in this time."

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. Zack Snyder's Justice League is scheduled to debut on HBO Max in 2021.
