Though Zack Snyder's Justice League is intended to bring Henry Cavill's Superman full circle in his journey, one plot point from Man of Steel will remain unaddressed.

Snyder said that fans looking to learn who was in the open pod from the Kryptonian scout ship in Man of Steel will have to keep waiting. "It definitely is in Justice League," Snyder told IGN. "They pass it and they look at it. They don't talk about it but, yeah, that is an open question, and I would hope at some point to find out who was in there, what's going on."

Snyder also confirmed that he knows the identity of the pod's occupant, though he doesn't know if he will be able to address it at any point in time: "Yeah, you're not getting that one, not for a while anyway, or ever." Snyder had previously co-written a Man of Steel prequel comic that tracked the life of Kara Zor-El, better known as Supergirl, who was the pilot of the scout ship when it crashed on Krypton. Sasha Calle is set to portray the Girl of Steel in the upcoming Flash movie.

The scout ship figured prominently in Man of Steel, where Clark Kent discovered it buried in the arctic. Inside, he found three stasis pods, two of which had dead bodies in them and one which was open. Lex Luthor used the ship's technology to create Doomsday in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, while the Justice League used it to resurrect Superman in the theatrical and director's cut of Justice League.

In Zack Snyder's Justice League, determined to ensure Superman’s ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne aligns forces with Diana Prince with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.

Zack Snyder's Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ray Porter as Darkseid, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. The film arrives on HBO Max March 18.
