The latest reports surrounding Zack Snyder's Justice League suggest the upcoming comic book ensemble will be even longer than expected as the director himself has revised the movie's already supersized runtime.

While the 2017 theatrical release of Justice League clocked in at exactly 120 minutes thanks to a Warner Bros. mandate, Snyder has returned to finish his vision of the movie and reinstate a lot of the story that was cut by Joss Whedon during post-production. Snyder previously said the Snyder Cut would be 214 minutes, but now, he's claimed the runtime has grown as he's continued to work remotely.

Speaking to Beyond the Trailer, Snyder said, "Now, in its current state, it's going to end up being longer than that yet. Exciting to bring all this new material to the fans. They get to see all these crazy and awesome new sequences, and I think that's going to be really exciting for everyone." When pushed on whether he could reveal a "ballpark" for Justice League's final runtime, he explained that he's still working on it and didn't want to give false hope to fans who might demand to know where any missing minutes have gone.

Although a 214-minute Snyder Cut would already be massive, Snyder has said this figure is underestimated. Since Justice League's critical and commercial panning, Snyder has teased various plot threads that were cut via his Vero account. As well as extended arcs for Flash and Cyborg, Snyder had plans to reveal Harry Lennix's General Swanwick as Martian Manhunter, include more of the Lanterns and have a big part for Ray Porter's Darkseid. With the first look at Zack Snyder's Justice League foreshadowing Darkseid's arrival, fans are at least expecting his story to be reinstated.

Ultimately, everyone will have to wait and see how long the Snyder Cut ends up being. Avengers: Endgame's 182-minute runtime makes its one of the longest theatrical releases, however, Justice League is coming to HBO Max and no one is sure whether it will be released as one movie, a two-parter or some sort of miniseries. Snyder is no stranger to epic cuts of his movies. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice's Ultimate Edition of 183 minutes is currently available on HBO Max, while Watchmen had an ultimate cut that reached an eye-watering 215 minutes. Even if Zack Snyder's Justice League's runtime is being kept a closely guarded secret, it sounds like it won't be a short one.

Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. Zack Snyder's Justice League will premiere exclusively on HBO Max in early to mid-2021.
