The Honest Trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League not only satirizes the director's famous tropes but also roasts the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse movement.

Famous for its satirical trailers of popular films and television programs, it wasn't long before Screen Junkies got requests from fans to do an Honest Trailer version of Zack Snyder's Justice League. Among the aspects picked apart in the video include the movie's four-hour length, its overall quality in comparison to the 2017 theatrical cut, the decision to release the film in the boxy 4:3 IMAX format for online streaming, the decision to depict Steppenwolf as a spiky gray CGI monster and more. It also touches on the director's famous tropes, such as his depiction of shirtless men with a Herculean build, stylized hyper-violent action sequences and especially his extreme use of slow-motion.

While the Honest Trailer hit all the points it normally does as part of its satire, it also devotes an entire segment to criticizing the latest online movement. The video describes the original #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement as a "powerful league uniting behind [the Snyder Cut], joining the Internet's most devoted fans of targeted harassment" as the reason Snyder's version of the film exists. However, in "Part 6: #RestoreTheSnyderVerse," it points out that this should've brought the movement full circle. Instead, it led to the formation of a new movement altogether.

"So wait -- as you pass by scenes that were clearly setting up multiple sequels, teasing fans with the ultimate fantasy of watching Darkseid and Superman take the rest of Earth to Pound Town, ensuring that every tweet, article or public statement about Warner Bros. will get swarmed with the hashtag #RestoreTheSnyderVerse – something that will never, ever happen...until DC's annual firing of the executives and the next ones make it happen – bullying remains undefeated, y'all!" the voiceover declares.

Zack Snyder's Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ray Porter as Darkseid, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. The film is now streaming on HBO Max.
