A fan named Shay Lonsdale recently posted a theory online about how Robin died in the DC Extended Universe, and Zack Snyder's Justice League director, Zack Snyder, responded.

The theory was reminiscent of Robin's death in the Batman comic series, which showed Jason Todd getting beaten by the Joker then burned alive in a building, which was posted on Vero and shared on Twitter.

However, in Lonsdale's theory, Robin was burned alive by the Joker in Wayne Manor, which is why the building appears decrepit in DC Extended Universe films. "Another thing to think about with this if true is that Joker probably knows Batman's true identity but chooses to keep it a secret as he doesn't want his twisted back and forth relationship with Batsy to end," Lonsdale said.

Snyder would later like the post, prompting some fans to speculate that there is some truth to the theory. So far, an explanation about Robin's death hasn't been offered in any DCEU film; however, Jared Leto's Joker is set to make an appearance in Zack Snyder's Justice League. The actor previously appeared as the character in 2016's Suicide Squad, though an onscreen confrontation between Leto's Joker and Ben Affleck's Batman/Bruce Wayne has yet to take place.
