Z2 Comics' latest partnership is with the award-winning hip-hop ensemble Hilltop Hoods for the original graphic novel Hilltop Hoods Presents: Noctis. Ahead of its release, Z2 has provided CBR with an exclusive preview.

Written by the band, along with Scott Dooley and Andrew Archer, the story sees rappers Pressure, Suffa and DJ Debris appearing as spacefaring versions of themselves on the space station Noctis as it comes under attack from extra-dimensional demons. The three will have to work together if they hope to survive the extraterrestrial onslaught and leave Noctis alive. The comic also reunites Archer with his The Tokyo 5 co-creator and artist Andrew Nice.

"Getting to work with Z2 on a comic is the realization of a childhood dream. I grew up reading Deathlok, X-Force, Spawn and a host of others, I never thought I'd be able to play a part in putting a comic together, and Z2 have been so generous with their knowledge, resources and time," Suffa said. "As for the writing and illustrations -- I've been a fan of Tokyo 5 since its inception, Nice's artwork is stunning, and Andrew Archer writes like someone who really understands how comic book universes should be constructed. Teaming them up with comedian Scott Dooley, who injected his sense of humour throughout, has resulted in a really exciting comic that everyone's really proud of.”

Hailing from Adelaide, Australia, Hilltop Hoods has enjoyed bestselling success worldwide and won multiple ARIA Awards in its native Australia. The project marks the band's first major foray into comic books, taking its adventures across the cosmos with plenty of sci-fi action.

Hilltop Hoods Presents: Noctis, by Hilltop Hoods, Scott Dooley, Andrew Archer and Jeff Nice goes, on sale this October from Z2 Comics and can be pre-ordered here.
