AEW recently announced that the former WWE 2K developer Yuke's will be creating its first video game. The wrestling organization couldn't have picked a better developer to tackle its debut title. Yuke's built up a reputation for creating some of the most cherished wrestling games in modern history. The Japanese developer has vast experience in the genre and can make a wrestling title that can compete with the best in the business.

Although Yuke's didn't make WWF: No Mercy (often regarded as the best wrestling game of all time), it did develop several highly praised wrestling titles before making the WWE 2K franchise. It's WWE SmackDown! series received critical and commercial acclaim, establishing Yuke's as a dominating force in the wrestling video game market. WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain frequents many top 10 wrestling game lists and gives WWF: No Mercy a run for its money.

Yuke's has always been infatuated with wrestling. Ever since the company’s creation in 1995, it has entrenched itself in the industry. It's created over 30 wrestling titles and even owned a percentage of New Japan Pro Wresting from 2005 to 2012. Yuke's' love and dedication to sports entertainment shines bright in each one of their wrestling titles. The company has been perfecting its craft for 25 years, giving video game fans the best wrestling experiences possible.

Yuke's departure from the WWE 2K series had a massive impact on the franchise's overall quality. WWE 2K20 was the first game in the series to be developed by another company and is considered one of the worst games of 2019. The game suffered from a slew of technical issues and was nearly unplayable upon release. It paled in comparison to previous entries, suggesting that Yuke's played an important role in the franchise's success. Without Yuke's' substantial wrestling knowledge and expertise, WWE 2K20 failed to sway gamers, making it one of the most disappointing wrestling titles in recent years.

One of the reasons why Yuke's is able to create such amazing wrestling games is its advanced real-time motion capture technology known as ALiS Zero. The technology uses augmented reality cameras that render motion capture wrestling moves in real-time. ALiS Zero allows Yuke's to make every powerbomb and dropkick as life-like as possible, giving them a leg up on its competition.

Yuke's and wrestling games go together like bread and butter. The company has over 25 years of experience creating wresting titles, making it the perfect company to lead development on AEW's first major video game. It has several amazing titles under its belt and has the skills to push the genre forward more than most other developers. Hopefully, wrestling fans will learn more about AEW's new game as we move closer to its 2021 release date.
