Throughout the series, Mai has a vain personality. She begins her journey with only prize money on her mind. Her overall outlook on life is to do what she needs to do to take care of herself. She is a charismatic woman who uses her beauty to make men bend to her will. When she meets Yugi and his friends, Mai sheds a little bit of her arrogant attitude and lets her guard down enough to fill the lonely void she felt on her own.

Just when Mai is reaching the pinnacle of her friendships, she battles in a duel that costs her to cut ties with those she loves most and loses precious memories. Because of her memory loss, she relies on her Slytherin like instincts to guide her. Ultimately, it lands her back where she started - misguided and alone.

8 Tristan Taylor - Hufflepuff

YuGiOh Tristan Taylor

Another Hufflepuff trait that he possesses is his code of morale. Hufflepuffs often have a strong sense of what is right or wrong and we witness Tristan doing the right thing by helping those in trouble a few times.

7 Seto Kaiba - Slytherin

Kaiba, one of Yugi’s toughest rivals, is a very prideful character. He is undoubtedly a Slytherin. Kaiba often lets his ego get in the way and has a superiority complex.

YuGiOh Yami Bakura

Bakara is a timid duelist. He is a genius when it comes to Duel Monsters and advises Yugi, happily when the opportunity arises. He is witty and great at predicting Yugi’s moves, like a Ravenclaw. However, his counterpart, Yami Bakura is a definitive Slytherin. The Millenium Ring that Bakura Ryou wore allowed the evil entity Yami Bakura to take over his body. The spirit mimicked his actions so precisely that even his closest friends did not realize at first.

After finding out an evil spirit possessed him he wants nothing more than to protect his friends, even at the cost of his own life. His loyalty traits lean more towards Hufflepuff, but ultimately because of his quick thinking the sorting hat would assign him to Ravenclaw. Unless, of course, he chose to be a Hufflepuff.
