Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V was one of the more creative premises of Yu-Gi-Oh. The series took advantage of having introduced so many summoning types and suggested everything had been split into different universes, where one summon type’s energy (Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Pendulum) reigned.
The protagonist of the series was Yuya Sakaki, someone obsessed with entertaining through dueling. He relies on the powerful Odd-Eyes and Performapal archetypes, and these are some of the most powerful cards he ever used.
10 XIANG-KE MAGICIAN
This is probably one of the best-designed cards in Yuya’s deck.
As a Pendulum scale, it can target an Xyz Monster on the field and use it as an Xyz Material for another Xyz monster, using its Rank as if it were a level. As a monster, it can target and negate the effect of a Light monster on the field during either player’s turn.
9 ODD-EYES PENDULUM DRAGON
Yuya's original ace monster. Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon could destroy itself to add a Pendulum monster with 1500 or less ATK. But it could also battle an opponent's monster, then deal twice the damage it was supposed to.
It can also reduce the damage any Pendulum Monster takes to 0. This card is a staple in a number of Pendulum decks, and Yuya used it for the majority of the series.
8 DARK REBELLION XYZ DRAGON
This card is the Xyz variant of Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon. Made up of two level 4 monsters, Dark Rebellion can use it's effect to cut a monster's power in half, then gain that power for itself.
This monster belonged to another Duelist, but our lead protagonist took this card for himself, and it's as much his as it was the original owner.
7 CHRONOGRAPH SORCERER
This is a card that managed to get limited to a single copy in the OCG version of this game. It’s Pendulum Effect can destroy itself to take a Timegazer Magician and place it in a Pendulum Zone or Specila Summon it.
As a monster, if the player has a monster destroyed by battle or card effect, it can special summon itself and another monster from the hand. It can also fusion summon Supreme King Z-ARC by banishing itself, a “Pendulum Dragon,” an “Xyz Dragon,” a “Synchro Dragon,” and a “Fusion Dragon” from the hand, field, or graveyard. That’s a lot of words to say it can summon a 4000 ATK boss monster.
6 TIMEGAZER MAGICIAN
Timegazer’s a monster that’s more useful as a monster than a Pendulum scale. As a Pendulum scale, it makes it so that if a Pendulum monster battles, the opponent can’t activate trap cards.
As a monster though, it makes it so each time a monster in the Pendulum Scale would be destroyed by an opponent’s card effect, it’s not destroyed. This makes the scales unable to be destroyed without the opponent using up more resources than it’s worth it.
5 ODD-EYES ABSOLUTE DRAGON
Made up of two level 7 monsters, Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon can negate attacks by detaching a material. If that seems tame, it then special summons an Odd-Eyes monster from the hand or graveyard.
And if it’s sent to the graveyard the player can special summon an Odd-Eyes monster from their Extra Deck besides Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon. This gives an easy way to bring out Odd-Eyes Rebellion or Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon.
4 PERFORMAPAL PENDULUM SORCERER
This card is one of the better Performapal cards in the game. Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer has two different abilities. It can make all Performapal monsters gain 1000 ATK if a Performapal is Pendulum summoned.
But if it's special summoned, it can also target two cards on the field, destroy them, and add two different Pendulum monsters to the hand. This card also gains ATK and generates advantage. No wonder Yuya relied on it.
3 PERFORMAPAL MONKEYBOARD
Monkeyboard is a card that’s so powerful it’s banned both in America and Japan. When he’s used as a Pendulum scale, the player can add a level 4 or lower Performapal monster to their hand from the deck.
As a monster, Monkeyboard can discard a card to reveal a Performapal or Odd-Eyes and reduce the level of that monster by one. That ability isn’t as helpful, but the Pendulum scale ability adds additional consistency.
2 ODD-EYES RAGING DRAGON
A strange card that’s both a Pendulum monster and an Xyz, Odd Eyes Raging Dragon is made up of two level 7 Dragon monsters. As a Pendulum scale, if the player has no other scale set, they can place a Pendulum monster from their deck in the other scale.
If the card’s Xyz summoned using an Xyz monster, it can make two attacks every battle. It can also detach a material from itself to destroy as many cards as the opponent controls and gain 200 ATK for every card destroyed.
1 ODD-EYES REBELLION DRAGON
Another Pendulum Xyz monster, if the player can Pendulum Summon level 7 monsters they can Pendulum Summon this card. If it’s summoned using an Xyz Monster as material, the player can destroy as many level 7 or lower monsters the opponent has as possible, then inflict 1000 damage for every monster destroyed.
If this happens, Rebellion Dragon can attack three times. No wonder it was so difficult for Yuya to lose when he had a boss monster like this available.
