Yu-Gi-Oh! GX is the first spin-off of the extremely popular Japanese anime whose success resulted in the both the popular Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game and the subsequent release of other spin-off series which continue to air even today, 20 years after the original series. And while the original series was iconic, it's the GX that is considered by many to be the best one.

10 Jaden Yuki - ENFP

Conveniently, the ENFP personality type is also known as "The Champion" or "The Campaigner," and happens to perfectly suit Jaden Yuki. Jaden is an open-minded individual who loves spending time with others and learning from them. In fact, characteristic to ENFPs, Jaden deeply cares about them, and his charisma and unyielding hope are nothing but inspiring to others.

Like most ENFPs, Jaden will also get easily distracted and hates routine, which is why he often neglects schoolwork and other errands that bore him so much he falls asleep. In fact, his spontaneity is the reason he makes episodes so interesting and unpredictable.

9 Zane Truesdale - INTJ

Zane's reserved, calm, deliberate, highly competitive, and perfectionist personality makes him a textbook example of an INTJ or "The Architect." He cares not for company or relationships as much as he cares about getting where he wants to go and doing everything to achieve it. Whether in dueling or in life, Zane has every detail maticulously planned out, and there's virtually nothing that can surprise him. For this reason, he's also one of the best duelists in all of Yu-Gi-Oh!.

INTJs place great emphasis on logic and facts over emotions. Like most INTJs, Zane may look stone cold on the outside, but there's much conflict and ideas constantly going on in his head. It's this appearance of cold emotionlessness that results in many INTJs being misunderstood by others, who often see them as stuck-up, unfriendly, or even evil.

8 Alexis Rhodes - ESFJ

Throughout the series, the beautiful Alexis has shown herself as a clear-cut ESFJ, also known as "The Consul." Natural caregivers, ESFJs are warm, empathetic and not only love spending time with others but are also the first to jump to someone's aid.

She's contrasted with the stuck-up nature and elitist behavior of the rest of the Obelisk-blue students, most of which think they are better than everyone else. As an ESFJ, Alexis displays utmost kindness, care, and loyalty to her friends, but she will not allow other to stomp on her, as we saw that she's more than a fierce duelist.

7 Bastion Misawa - ISTJ

Bastion is a Ra-Yellow duelist who gets befriended by the protagonist Jaden Yuki early in the series. Intelligent, composed, deliberate, and fact-driven, he is often shown as the voice of reason in the group. In the series, he frequently performs various statistical analyses to determine his chances of winning a duel. This is why it's easy to conclude that he is an ISTJ, or "The Logician." This personality type relies on clear facts and hard numbers far more than on feelings and intuition.

Like an ISTJ, Bastion is a highly practical and friendly person, but is not the extroverted type found at parties and bars. The most likely place you'll find Bastion is in his room, chalking up a new formula for beating everyone in a duel.

6 Tyranno Hassleberry - ESTP

Tyranno Hassleberry is another supporting character introduced towards the middle of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX as a reckless and impulsive character who challenged other students to duels and stealing their duel disks after defeating them. After being defeated by Jaden Yuki, he became infatuated with the protagonist and even moved to his Slifer-red dorm despite being a Ra-yellow. From all this, describing Hassleberry as an ESTP is fairly straightforward.

ESTPs are very action-oriented, outspoken, and social people that are bored by convention, hence their impulsive mindsets. Despite being reckless and extremely energetic, Hassleberry has gone on to become one of the main supporting characters and Jaden's best friends (which is something he often argues about with Jaden's other best friend, Syrus).

5 Chazz Princeton - ENTJ

Due to their rivalry, it's often considered that Chazz is to Jaden what Kaiba is to Yugi. However, despite their frequent conflicts, Jaden still genuinely views Chazz as one of this best friends. Chazz is highly conceited, stuck-up, and elitist, and doesn't mind all the attention his personality is getting him. From his behavior when he became a puppet for Sartorius and had the rest of the Obelisk-blue students follow him to even the details like his Ojama deck with obedient Ojamas enduring his insults and commands, it's obvious that Chazz is an ENTJ or "The Commander."

ENTJs don't consider personal feelings nor the feelings of others when making decisions. They are sociable, and love to help and direct others to achieve the best results, which is why the ENTJ personality is frequent among leaders. As an ENTJ, Chazz is stubborn, loud and assertive, and hates to be humiliated by someone he considers to be below him (such as Jaden).

4 Syrus Truesdale - ISFJ

We have gotten to know and love Syrus as Jaden's caring, selfless, timid, yet faithful sidekick. In fact, he's Jaden's best friend throughout the whole series (sorry Hassleberry). With Syrus, we get to witness one of the biggest and most enjoyable character developments in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh! series. He started out a scared and self-doubting student who let everyone use him as a doormat before becoming a highly confident and skilled duelist, much like his legendary brother Zane.

When it comes to his personality, Syrus is an ISFJ, or "the Defender." Like Syrus, ISFJs are often quiet, reserved, and caring individuals that understand the emotions of others yet are unable to properly express themselves. The reason Syrus is a "Defender" lies in his protective nature and his undying friendship and love for Jaden and the crew. He puts everyone else before himself and is sensitive to their emotions and needs. Syrus is the best friend anyone could ask for.

3 Aster Phoenix - INTP

Aster's appearance marked a significant change in atmosphere for the show. His brilliance and dueling prowess were able to throw even the great Zane Truesdale off guard. In fact, Aster was the first person to defeat Zane in a professional duel. Indeed, his personality is much like Zane's but more emotional and abstract.

As an INTP, Aster can often be insensitive to others, putting logic and "destiny" above emotions. He is also not very people-oriented, preferring to spend time alone and barely chatting during duels. However, when someone finally gets close to him, Aster can be an affectionate and loyal friend.

2 Jesse Anderson - INFP

Similarities between Jesse and Jaden are frequently noted throughout the series. Both are fun, caring, enthusiastic, and even share the ability to see duel monster spirits. However, while Jaden is an extremely confident and sociable person who loves talking to everyone, Jesse is oftentimes shown as shy and reserved. This is why he is an INFP, or "The Mediator."

INFPs are introverts who see the big picture and don't bother with details; they are also emotional, warm, and sensitive. Like his bond with his duel monsters, Jesse also has a strong bong with whomever he is close to, while being shy and reserved towards others. This is why he grew increasingly warm and sympathetic towards Jaden and his crew.

1 Crowler - ENTJ

Some fans can spot the similarities between Crowler and one other character. The resemblance is quite intriguing, actually. Of course, we're talking about Chazz. The two share much in common, like their mutual hate towards Jaden Yuki to their elitist behavior. Like Chazz, Crowler is also a clear-cut ENTJ.

He is a planning, outspoken, and aggressive individual who loves directing others and being in control. So naturally, losing to Jaden Yuki absolutely crushes his self confidence. Appropriately, Crowler is a head professor at Duel Academy - a position that pairs well with his "Commander" personality.
