Filming on Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel is well underway in Los Angeles, and while most of the details surrounding the feature remain secretive, we know that it'll bring back two Marvel Cinematic Universe mainstays with Nick Fury and Phil Coulson. And while Samuel L. Jackson has been open regarding the backup process for Fury's younger self, a new batch of set photos have given us our first look at the character in the highly anticipated film.
The site Hollywood Pipeline was able to secure photos of Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson filming what appears to be the first meeting the two characters. Not only is Fury sporting hair -- and more notably, two eyes -- in the set photos, but he's also seen wearing motion capture markers as it is expected the studio will de-age both Jackson and Clark Gregg for their scenes in Captain Marvel.

In the above photos, while it's unclear just what is happening, Carol is seen pushing Fury back, leaving the future S.H.I.E.L.D. director seemingly unnerved -- whether it be by Carol's strength or an unseen danger lingering nearby. While it remains to be seen just what is taking place in the pictured scene, one thing is for sure, Fury's return to the MCU can't come soon enough.
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Walter Lawson/Mar-Vell, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Honsou as Korath, and Ben Mendelsohn and Lashana Lynch in undisclosed roles. The film is targeted for release on March 8, 2019.
