WARNING: The following contains spoilers for the first six episodes of Young Justice: Phantoms, streaming now on HBO Max.

In the Young Justice series thus far, Cheshire has been a major thorn in the heroes' side with her skills as one of the world's deadliest assassins. After working with her dad, Sportsmaster, she helped wreck the team immensely, also sowing seeds maybe her sister, Artemis, was a traitor. Since then, whether it be as an agent of the Light or the League of Shadows, Cheshire truly knows how to mentally work the team and destabilize them, especially Artemis. Thankfully, she's turned a new leaf after realizing she was a mere pawn, and in the latest episode, she's gone from their most sinister villain to the squad's greatest savior.

It's confirmed in "The Lady, or the Tigress?" when Artemis infiltrates to get Orphan back from Lady Shiva's clutches. She's working with the defectors, Onyx and Cassandra Savage, only for the latter to turn on them. She really was a spy, after all, extracting Justice League data via nanobots for Shiva from her time in Artemis' lair.

This leads to a brutal confrontation with Shiva's forces joining Cassandra, outnumbering Artemis and Onyx, who are both pissed they were duped after trusting Vandal Savage's daughter. Luckily, Cheshire drops into the base and starts knocking assassins out, evening the odds. Artemis is ecstatic, as she knew Cheshire wouldn't abandon them, which does annoy the latter a bit.

Cheshire was part of the interrogation team, but she didn't enlist officially with Artemis' unit. That said, Artemis admits she always knew her sister would pull through for her and become one of the good guys. It's a welcomed turn in their rivalry because Artemis needs her sister right now, especially as Superboy's death is triggering PTSD from when Wally died. They were robbed of a childhood too, as Sportsmaster turned his girls into killers, and this now seems to suggest they'll finally bury the hatchet.

They care about each other a lot, and more importantly, reconciliation will allow Cheshire to be with her mom again, and the girl she had with Will Harper. Cheshire may even become Jade Nguyen (her civilian persona) once more in this redemption song, as it feels like she's truly reconnected with her humanity.

She does need her True North again, and from a strategic standpoint, it'll be a win-win as both ladies want to take down the Shadows and all other sinister groups that used assassins like them to try to control the fate of the world. This would allow both women to heal as they become a family again, and ultimately, it'll provide Artemis an impeccable soldier for her crusade of justice, as Jade knows so much about Shiva's operations.

To see Cheshire save Artemis and help the heroes out, the first six episodes of Young Justice: Phantoms are streaming on HBO Max.
