DC's two main teenage superhero teams are Young Justice and the Teen Titans. The two teams have a lot in common. Both have undergone numerous changes over the years. Both are also the stars of popular animated series, which have shaped the way fans see them. Each has even had Robin, Kid Flash, Superboy, and Wonder Girl as key members at one point or another.

Whenever there are heroes with comparable abilities, fans can't help but wonder who is stronger. There is plenty of evidence to suggest why one team might be the more powerful—and quite a bit of evidence to argue the opposite. Considering that many heroes were on both teams, the only way to understand which team is more powerful is by looking at the characters and characteristics that make each unique, both in the comics and the cartoons.

10 Young Justice: Amethyst

Amethyst

Both Young Justice and Teen Titans have a lot of similar characters with similar powers. Some characters have even been on both teams. But one member of Young Justice is particularly noteworthy for how distinct she is.

Amethyst is the Princess of Gemworld and is a skilled warrior with magical powers. She rides a Pegasus across the skies while wielding a magic sword. She can also cast spells. Basically, she is a cross between an ancient Greek epic hero and a powerful witch. Needless to say, the Teen Titans do not have anyone quite like her on their team.

9 Teen Titans: Raven Is A Powerful Spellcaster Who Gives The Team A Different Dynamic

While the Teen Titans may not have someone quite like Amethyst on their team, they do have Raven, the goth spellcaster whose father is the demon Trigon.

Raven is an empath in addition to being one of the most powerful spellcasters in the DC Universe. Given her amazing talents, she has also been on other teams, including the Justice League.

8 Young Justice: The Team Utilizes Stealth More

Young Justice

This answer is based mostly on the Young Justice cartoon, but there is evidence for it in the comics too. When it comes down to it, the members of Young Justice use stealth more than the Titans do. The Titans have a giant towering T hovering over New York—and at one point, over San Francisco—which is just telegraphing their location to everyone.

While Young Justice in the comics has a character named Secret, their secret operations mainly can be seen in the TV show, where they work from the shadows to help the Justice League.

7 Teen Titans: They Are Reckless But Daring

Teen Titans

Any team of teenage superheroes is going to be reckless. After all, teenagers are not at patient by default and already feel like they can do anything without facing any consequences.

The Teen Titans are some of the cockiest, most overconfident heroes around—at least, they are when they aren't overcome with teenage brooding, mood swings, and insecurities. But that daring is the very stuff that makes them so heroic. They rush into danger without a second thought.

6 Young Justice: Super-Cycle Lets The Heroes All Move As One

Young Justice. Super-Cycle

A single hero can move at their own speed in a fight or from one location to the next. A team must be able to move as a unit. As Young Justice is a team with unpowered heroes like Red Robin and Kryptonian heroes like Superboy, it is more than a little difficult to ensure that all the heroes can move at the same speed.

This is why Young Justice's signature vehicle, the Super-Cycle, is so important. Designed by the New Gods, this vehicle is capable of both flight and teleportation. A non-teleporting version also appeared in the show.

5 Teen Titans: The Tower Acts As A Great HQ For Planning

DC Comics Teen Titans Tower

The Teen Titans have a distinct base of operations. This is a place where they can train, bond, heal, and strategize. It is also a symbol that shows the city they make their home base of operations that there are heroes to call upon for help.

The Titans Tower has been attacked numerous times. After having two different versions of the Tower in New York, it was moved to San Francisco. But despite being a target, the building can quite literally be rebuilt, but what it offers the team is enduring.

4 Young Justice: Secret Is Vastly Overpowered Compared To Other Heroes

Secret. Young Justice

Secret is a little-known character, but despite being underappreciated, she is seriously overpowered. She has intangibility, teleportation, flight, shapeshifting, and the ability to take possession of people. In fact, she has all of the powers of the Spectre, who is God's manifestation of Vengeance. Except she is not bound by any of the rules that limit the Spectre.

It is eventually revealed that she is the keeper of the gateway between life and death, capable of ferrying souls between worlds. She was so powerful, Darkseid tried to manipulate her as part of one of his epic plots of domination.

3 Teen Titans: Cyborg Packs A Punch And Is A Real Leader

Cyborg

The history of Cyborg is more than a little complicated, especially since the 2011 New 52 reboot of the DC Universe made him a founding member of the Justice League--something now popularized in the live-action film. But at the end of the day, Cyborg is a Teen Titan. Even when he aged out of the "teen" part, he stayed behind to mentor the next generation of young heroes.

He can hack into any system, teleport anywhere, and packs a serious punch—both with his physical abilities and his sonic cannon.

2 Young Justice: Teen Lantern Has A Green Lantern Ring

Keli Quintela as Teen Lantern

With a name like Teen Lantern, there really should be no surprises. Keli Quintela hacked into a Green Lantern ring and made it her own. Keep in mind, these rings are among the most powerful weapons in the universe and were literally made by the Guardians of the Universe to enforce their will on everything.

Keli can do anything a Green Lantern could, though she does not have the same level of training. However, since Green Lantern rings are operated through willpower, it is clear that the young hero has the will to succeed and to carry her teammates in Young Justice onto victory against any foe. It is only a matter of time before she surpasses the other Green Lanterns.

1 Teen Titans: Starfire Is Super Powerful

Starfire attacks, in DC Comics' New Teen Titans

One of the members of the Teen Titans from the early days, Starfire is arguably DC's most powerful female teen hero. Like Cyborg, she has grown up quite a bit in recent years, as she has mentored younger teens on the team. While the upper limits of her strength are unknown, it is certain that she is much, much stronger than Cyborg, who can lift up to fifteen tons.

Starfire can fly through the vacuum of space and shoot powerful starbolts from her fists. On her own, Starfire could take down most villains without any difficulty—and most heroes. With her on the team, the Teen Titans are a force to be reckoned with.
