The following contains spoilers for Dark Crisis: Young Justice #3, on sale Aug. 16 from DC Comics.

Young Justice is being urged to start killing some of their worst villains while they're trapped in another reality in Dark Crisis: Young Justice #3.

Dark Crisis: Young Justice #3 comes from writer Meghan Fitzmartin and artist Laura Braga. Superboy/Conner Kent, Impulse/Bart Allen and Robin/Tim Drake ran into Deathstroke, Captain Boomerang and Lex Luthor at the end of Dark Crisis: Young Justice #2 while the three Young Justice members have found themselves stuck in some sort of alternate reality. In a preview provided by DC for Dark Crisis: Young Justice #3, the heroes and villains come to blows while the alternate reality's version of Cassie Sandsmark/Wonder Girl urges her "friends" to start killing.

Before the fight begins, Young Justice notices they all have personal ties to Captain Boomerang, Lex Luthor and Deathstroke, suggesting this run-in may not be pure coincidence and could have somehow been planned. Impulse urges the team to see through the veil of whatever is really going on; however, Superboy and Robin both charge into battle and put any investigating into the situation on hold.

Impulse easily -- almost too easily -- manages to get Deathstroke's weapon away from him and holds the villain at gunpoint. While contemplating his next move, Cassie shows up behind him and urges Impulse to "do what you need to do." A taken aback Impulse wonders, "What the hell is that? When I speed up or slow down, the world looks off. It's like an old computer program...with tracking lines...leading straight to Cassie. Is she controlling this?"

What's Coming For Young Justice?

Impulse, Superboy and Robin found themselves in this alternate reality in Dark Crisis: Young Justice #1 for reasons that remain unexplained. As the boys discover more and more startling differences between this new reality and their home, Cassie has teamed up with Cissie/Arrowette and Red Tornado on Earth-Prime to find the missing heroes. The synopsis for Dark Crisis: Young Justice #3 reads, "Sins of the old! In response to their lack of gratitude, the world holding Superboy, Impulse, and Tim Drake captive has brought back the three villains who have caused them the most pain to keep them in their place: Deathstroke, Captain Boomerang, and Lex Luthor. Old wounds will open. Wonder Girl and her search team will have to hurry up before there’s no Young Justice left to save!"
