WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Young Justice #15, by Brian Michael Bendis, David Walker, John Timms, Scott Godlewski, Gabe Eltaeb and Wes Abbott, on sale now.

One of the more recent popup imprints to make a splash at DC is Brian Michael Bendis' Wonder Comics. The line was founded in 2018 after the writer left Marvel Comics and signed an exclusive contract with DC. Focusing on younger, under-the-radar characters like the Wonder Twins and Dial H for Hero, Wonder Comics' flagship title was a relaunch of the fan-favorite Young Justice.

The comic reunited original Young Justice cast members Robin (Tim Drake), Superboy (Conner Kent), Impulse (Bart Allen) and Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark) with all-new characters such as Jinny Hex and Teen Lantern. During this new run Young Justice has grown its ranks to include every young hero under the Wonder Comics umbrella, including Naomi, another all-new creation that starred in a solo limited series.

After capturing Dr. Glory and turning her over to the F.B.I., Young Justice helps with the cleanup outside of S.T.A.R. Labs. Impulse, who has a wealth of information regarding Young Justice's missing memories, pulls Naomi aside to give her some much-needed intel. He hands Naomi the information that S.T.A.R. Labs has collected on a doorway back to her homeworld. Impulse thought it would be helpful for Naomi to have this, considering she is a rookie hero still learning about her background.

As an extra precaution, Impulse also made a backup copy for the Hall of Justice and F.B.I. to have as well, much to Naomi's delight. The two share a cute moment when Impulse tries to reassure Naomi that she will know what to do with this intel when the time comes. Hopefully, this will lead to Impulse and Naomi developing a friendship that can extend beyond the pages of Young Justice.

Bendis collaborated with writer David F. Walker and artist Jamal Campbell on Naomi, an adopted Black girl from Oregon who had her whole life rocked after Superman fought Mongul in her small town. Naomi went on to learn that her foster father is from the planet Rann, with her deceased parents residing on another world in the DC Multiverse. The very first villain Naomi faced, named Zumbado, also comes from her homeworld and is responsible for her parents' death and devastating their home.

Naomi has appeared as a guest-star in Bendis' Action Comics when she flew to Metropolis to ask Superman for help. Also, even though Naomi's miniseries has come to an end, Bendis has already confirmed that a sequel will be a part of Wonder Comics' Season 2 slate of titles. It's not hard to imagine that the follow-up could revolve around Naomi investigating her homeworld using the data she received from Impulse. It would make it even more fun if Impulse tagged along for that adventure, or for at least part of Naomi Season 2. Whenever the comic book industry gets back to its regular shipping schedule, fans deserve to learn more about Naomi's origins, and Young Justice sets that up in a big way.
