Young Justice co-creator/co-showrunner Greg Weisman encourages fans to rewatch the first four seasons of the show to help ensure a fifth is made.

Weisman, who previously created or co-created cartoons like Gargoyles and The Spectacular Spider-Man, released a statement on his website recapping relevant news from DC FanDome, including the surprise premiere of Young Justice's fourth season. He added that "Young Justice has NOT yet been picked up for a fifth season. So if fans want more of Earth-16, the answer is simple: #KeepBingingYJ (all four seasons) over and over. And over and over. And help us #SpreadTheWord. We want to #SaveEarth16."

Young Justice premiered on Cartoon Network in 2010, intending to be a more mature take on superheroes that focused on espionage and cloak-and-dagger tactics. The series curated a loyal fanbase, but due to low merchandise sales, it was canceled after its second season (subtitled Invasion). Fan demand was strong enough that Young Justice was given a revival on the DC Universe app, which aired the show's third season (subtitled Outsiders). After DC Universe shifted to comics exclusively and rebranded itself DC Universe Infinite, the show moved once again, this time to HBO Max, which is currently airing the fourth season (subtitled Phantoms).

According to Weisman's statement, new episodes of Young Justice will release every Thursday on HBO Max up through Dec. 30, with the back half of the season not airing until spring 2022. "I'm truly excited for the fans to see the season," Weisman said. "And evil creator that I am - also glad that the show isn't all dropping at once. I firmly believe television - especially a show like YJ - is a better experience if you have time to savor and sort and absorb and predict for a week in between episodes."

However, Weisman also said he doesn't know when the show will be available outside of the United States. "For international fans, I wish I could give you info on when any or all of the above will be available in your countries," he added. "But unfortunately, [the powers that be] do not keep us folks in the trenches well-informed. Asking me over and over won't magically reveal that information to me so that I can reveal it to you."

The first three seasons of Young Justice are available to stream on HBO Max. Season 4 releases new episodes every Thursday.
