The following contains spoilers for Young Justice: Phantoms, Episode 18, "Beyond The Grip of the Gods!," now streaming on HBO Max.

After the attack from the Child (a bitter Lord of Chaos) decimated Earth in Young Justice: Phantoms, Superman confirmed the Justice League needed to strengthen ranks ASAP. He personally began overseeing the recruitment drive with Black Lightning. However, they were stumped over where to start because they needed help from the magical realm to the galactic one. Well, thanks to a key meeting where Superman and Black Lightning assessed a screen at the Watchtower, fans have an idea of the candidates.

The first row began with Giovani Zatara, an ex-member who was recommended thanks to Kent Nelson, a former Doctor Fate. With Zatara now sharing the Helmet of Fate duties with Zatanna and Thirteen, the League would like his expertise when he's available. Red Arrow/Will Harper is next, and it makes sense given he recently helped Artemis fight Lady Shiva's forces. He's over his clone saga, and as leader of the Bowhunter Security firm, he'd be ideal for covert-ops missions.

Superman is recruiting in Young Justice

Tempest/Garth is present and seeing as he hasn't been the Aqualad per the comics, a role with the League could be what he needs to get more action. Given Orin is back with the League and Garth helped battle an Ocean Master clone in Vandal Savage's last raid, it's easy to see the former king Atlantean vouching for Garth. Donna Troy/Troia is present too, with Superman wanting more Themyscirans like Diana and Cassie/Wonder Girl. Mary Marvel is present as well, but it's likely Superman doesn't know Granny Goodness is co-opting her. Rounding out the row is Clayface, who redeemed himself with Bowhunter Security, and would be a great shape-shifting addition alongside Martian Manhunter.

The second row has Bumblebee and Mal/Guardian, who both worked with the Outsiders for some time. It's never been explained why they didn't get called up, but the Man of Steel thinks it's time. Jim Harper (another Roy Harper clone) is a candidate too, and as another Guardian, he'd be a disciplined match. Dubbilex is next, due to his scientific work with CADMUS and how he's redeemed himself with the Genomorphs at Geranium City. Rounding out the row are Adam and Alanna Strange -- who both helped the League in its cosmic scraps, especially when the Reach tried to take over Earth.

The third row has Isis, last seen helping Ice with damage the Child caused. While her magical powers would be useful, it may invite Black Adam in, though, as he loved her in the comics. The next person is B’arzz O’oomm, the former Green Beetle who was freed by the League and turned on the Reach. Given how rampant political war is on Mars, and how the League needs help in space with Apokolips and Lor-Zod making shady moves, he'd come in handy. Asami and Tye Longshadow, the runaways from Static's team years ago, are there as well. Asami was experimented on by the Light but chose not to join the heroes. She and Tye wanted to stay out the limelight, but with Asami's energy projections and Tye's giant astral golem, they'd add a lot of power. The row's rounded out by Mera, the new ruler of Atlantis, and Dolphin, both of whom used their water-bending sorcery to defend Atlantis from Orm, Vandal and Arion in the preceding Phantoms arc.

As for the final row, Black Lightning and Kal's heads are blocking two faces, teasing their importance down the line. Wyynde is the first face, although he may not be up for it after his boyfriend, Kaldur, relinquished the role of Aquaman to take some time and heal from the pressures and tragedies affiliated with the job. Khalid's included as well, indicating the League wants his supernatural skills around when he's not in Fate's helmet. Jason Blood and Madame Xanadu round out the row -- after the League constantly hit them up for mystical advice in the past, they may as well be formal members.

Superman also mentioned Etrigan the Demon should be asked, because Jason accepting doesn't automatically mean Etrigan's in. The Phantom Stranger is another heavy magical hitter he wants, as well as the sharp-shooting wildcard, Peacemaker. Interestingly, Superman warned of political trouble with allies such as China, Russia and Markovia, because he didn't know if they trusted the League. The Man of Steel concluded by asking for alliances with Mars, New Genesis (which Rocket's working on with Orion), Thanagar and Oa, adamant more Green Lanterns will form a stronger cosmic coalition.
