WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for "Quiet Conversations," Episode 20 of Young Justice: Outsiders, streaming now on DC Universe.

After being fused to a Father Box on Young Justice, Vic Stone, aka Cyborg, fell in with the Outsiders, primarily to receive treatment for his spreading cybernetic virus. In the latest episode, "Quiet Conversations," however, Vic receives a massive upgrade that may have left him more of a New God than man or machine.

Previous episodes depicted Vic losing control due to Father Box's corruption, only for Halo to help heal him, as she's the soul of a Mother Box. But it's only a stopgap measure, leaving Vic even more frustrated than before. Early on, we see him grimacing in pain, and passing out in an alley before Forager finds and brings him back to base for his father, Silas, and Helga Jace to attempt to save him. They're left with no choice but to induce a coma, only for Dreamer of the Forever People to come in and advise, thanks to her unique Mother Box, on a better plan for Vic to be purged. The only person who can perform this "exorcism," however, is Metron.

Dreamer leaves her Box with the heroes, and Superboy, Forager and Black Lightning track Metron in a game of hide-and-seek to the Source Wall. Eventually, Metron agrees to come back, but it turns out he doesn't want to save Vic; he's merely fascinated by seeing a Father Box's soul integrating with a biological organism. He wants to admire and study Vic's assimilation. As twisted as it is, this cold-hearted demeanor is admittedly right up Metron's alley as DC's very own Watcher.

Conner tries to persuade him to help, but he's unable to convince the notoriously stubborn Metron. The team has a trick up its sleeve, however, as they remember Dreamer said they needed the Mobius chair, and not Metron himself. That leads to Conner unseating him in a brawl in which Black Lightning uses all of his electricity to subdue the New God. The heroes place Vic in the seat, then instruct it, using Dreamer's Mother Box translator, to cure Cyborg.

In a brutal process, the tech parts sticking out of Vic go from monstrous to something more streamlined. Despite having a few more scars, we finally get the half-man, half-machine we've seen in in comics, animation and, of course, the DC Extended Universe films. You can tell how happy Vic is, as he even hugs his father, despite their tumultuous relationship. As the Father Box's soul actually goes into the chair, it's transported back to its home: the Source Wall.

While the heroes might view this is a victory, we must remember that New God tech can prove dangerous. Metron warns Vic about being made from "Mobius-tech," but all the teen can do is breathe a sigh of relief. Still, we don't know whether the chair was connected to the Anti-Monitor in this series, which could once more turn Vic into a weapon.

Ultimately, Cyborg will be a big addition to the Justice League or the ever-expanding Outsiders, depending on where he enlists, because we know the powerhouse he can be and the tactical flexibility brings. The latter team in particular has been a bit one-dimensional, so working with Beast Boy & Co. could make them more Teen Titans than Outsiders.

New episodes of Young Justice: Outsiders premiere Tuesdays throughout the summer on DC Universe.
