Hailee Steinfeld is hoping to do more in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kate Bishop -- including a Young Avengers project.

In an interview on Happy Sad Confused, Steinfeld was asked if she wants to reprise her as the new Hawkeye. And since the MCU has been consistently adding a new crop of legacy heroes to its roster, a cinematic take on the Young Avengers may be coming. "I'm certainly chomping at the bit," she answered. "I am so ready to get back at it. I am itching to be on set again with people that do what I do and love what we do. I have such a sense of belonging when I'm on set and a sense of home and I just love it."

The Potential Young Avengers

Steinfeld joined the MCU in the 2021 miniseries Hawkeye, where she played Kate Bishop, a devoted fan of Clint Barton/Hawkeye and superhero hopeful who ends the series by taking on Clint's mantle. Steinfeld's character was positively received, particularly for her chemistry with fellow legacy hero Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), leaving many fans hoping to see the two reunite on screen. Marvel has confirmed that Kate will return in a Phase 5 project, but the nature of her return to the MCU remains unknown at this time.

In addition to Kate and Yelena, much of the MCU's Phase 4 has been focused on introducing new young heroes to the line-up. These include Billy (Julian Hillard) and Tommy Maximoff (Jett Klein) on WandaVision, Eli Bradley (Elijah Richardson) on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Fans have predicted that the MCU is setting the stage for a team-up vehicle adapting the Young Avengers comics, but Marvel has yet to announce any project of the sort.

While the nature of Steinfeld's return to the MCU is unknown, another breakout star from Hawkeye will get their own project: Maya Lopez, played by Alaqua Cox, who will star in the Disney+ series Echo, set to release in November 2023. In addition, the in-universe Avengers musical Rogers will be expanded into a real-life show that will have a limited summer run at Disney's California Adventure. Steinfeld, meanwhile, will play a different Marvel role when she returns to voice Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

All episodes of Hawkeye are available to stream on Disney+.
