Marvel Comics' Cable series will have its grand finale this June -- and feature a meeting that has been brewing for a while.

Cable #11 and #12 will finally feature the younger and older versions of Cable encountering each other as Krakoa prepares for its "Hellfire Gala." "The future catches up to Nathan Summers in Cable #12!" Marvel teases in its release. This "game-changing confrontation" is said to set Cable "on a new path." As always, the issues will feature the creative team of writer Gerry Duggan and artist Phil Noto, with Noto providing covers that spotlight both versions of Cable.

"I was grateful to be reunited with Cable in this exciting new era of the X-Men, and even more excited to be reunited with one of my most important collaborators, and friends. Phil Noto and I have wrenched on a lot of comics together, and this one will be immortal because of his sublime work," Duggan said. "On your feet, soldiers, we have our most dangerous battle in the final chapter."

Under Duggan and Noto, Cable has embarked on a number of adventures -- finding one of the Spaceknights' lost swords and even serving as one of Krakoa's champions during the "X of Swords" event. He will continue to appear in the S.W.O.R.D. series by Al Ewing and Valerio Schiti, serving as the space agency's head of security.
