Although it seemed impossible to outdo the Guitar Boy -- the combination electric guitar/Nintendo Game Boy -- Nicola Pavan may have done it.

The Italian guitar maker, who typically works with wood, instead used LEGO to craft a working guitar. Created over the course of six days, the instrument's body is made entirely of the plastic bricks, held together with glue and screws, while the neck and bridge use more traditional materials.

Pavan told Mashable that the most difficult project was amassing all the necessary LEGO (luckily, his friends were willing to contribute). You can hear the guitar in action, and check out photos of the initial prototype, below.
