Yoda to Pay a Visit to 'Star Wars Rebels'

Yoda will come out of hiding to make an appearance on Disney XD's Star Wars Rebels. Well, at least his voice will.

TV Guide reports the disembodied voice of the Jedi master will counsel Kanan and his padawan Ezra on the isolated planet Lothal for the Jan. 5 episode of the animated series. It will mark the return of Frank Oz to the role he played in five Star Wars films (Yoda was voiced by Tom Kane in Star Wars: The Clone Wars).

"I felt personally to keep Yoda as this disembodied thing it would confuse the audience less," executive producer Dave Filoni told the website. "I didn't want you to think Yoda could be teleporting from planet to planet."

Star Wars Rebels airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Disney XD.
