Nearly every team in Power Rangers history features the primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) as Rangers. So far, only one lineup has changed things up, not featuring a Yellow Ranger. With so many seasons of the franchise over more than two decades, that means there are a lot of Yellow Rangers.

Most often in Power Rangers, the Yellow Ranger is a female member of the team, and usually a grounding force. They are team players who might not often get to stand out in the fight, but they always put the big picture first. As is true for all of the Power Rangers, however, some Yellow Rangers are stronger Power Rangers than others.

10 Strongest: Kira (Dino Thunder)

Power Rangers Dino Thunder Yellow Kira

Kira has benefits that a lot of Yellow Rangers don't have: a super power beyond the usual fighting skills and a veteran Ranger to help her team. Those already give her an edge.

Her power, created by the yellow dino gem fusing with her DNA, is a scream that can literally throw her enemies off track. Beyond her scream, however, Kira also happens to be an incredibly observant Ranger who is always ready for a fight. She's even appeared in multiple specialty teams, plucked from her timeline to help other Rangers in need.

9 Weakest: Terona (1969 Rangers)

Terona 1969 Yellow Ranger

Terona won't be familiar to Power Rangers fans who haven't read the Boom Studios comics. He's created for a comic book storyline that reveals another Mighty Morphin team existed in 1969 - for one ill-fated mission.

In a long history of Power Rangers teams, the 1969 team might be the worst. They are completely unprepared for what's thrown at them: a trip to the moon to stop a threat to the planet. Most of the team doesn't survive. Though Terona does, he spends the entire mission fighting with his team and not focusing on the task at hand. He holds a lot of animosity for Zordon for the rest of his life after watching most of the team die and having to return the power coin.

8 Strongest: Aisha (Mighty Morphin)

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Yellow Ranger Aisha

Aisha doesn't have a long run as a Yellow Ranger, but she does make it into the first Power Rangers movie. She's also one of the few Power Rangers who makes a commitment to fight evil before she's given a power coin.

Aisha takes over Trini's spot on the team when Trini leaves to act as a teen ambassador in a peace conference. She takes her role as a Ranger very seriously, leaving no one behind. Aisha also understands, however, that she's replaceable, and she gives up her spot on the team when she thinks her knowledge could be useful elsewhere, sending the Power Rangers a replacement in Tanya.

7 Weakest: Tideus (Mighty Morphin)

Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers Tideus

When the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are de-aged in the third season of their series, they need a little help. With no access to their powers, they can't morph to fight off the monsters. Enter the Rangers of Aquitar.

While these Power Rangers, including Yellow Ranger Tideus, are a help to the team, they have a major weakness. Tideus needs water in order to keep fighting. Their planet is primarily water, so he doesn't last long in a fight before needing to recharge.

6 Strongest: Trini (Boom Studios Comics)

Trini Kwan In Go Go Power Rangers Comic Book

As one of the original television Power Rangers, fans have a lot of love for Trini. She doesn't often get the chance to show how strong she is in her appearance in the original series, but she does in the comics.

In the series released through Boom Studios, Trini proves herself more than just a good teammate. She's a capable fighter who spends her free time training with Jason in a pocket dimension. The comics even expand on her story of leaving the team. She lies about participating in a peace conference because she's actually chosen to become an Omega Ranger instead. Trini also becomes the leader of the resistance against Lord Drakkon in an alternate timeline. She's given a lot more chances to show fans what she can do on the page.

5 Weakest: Summer (RPM)

Power Rangers RPM Yellow Summer

Summer goes through a lot of change when the events of Power Rangers RPM take place. Raised in a wealthy family as an only child, Summer rarely thought about anyone other than herself until the Venjix virus changed the world. When she becomes the Yellow Ranger, she puts everyone else first and truly commits to the cause.

Just because she shows an extensive amount of growth, however, doesn't mean she's the strongest of Yellow Rangers. In her particular situation, Summer doesn't really understand how Venjix works, and she doesn't often get the chance to strike out on her own. She's a solid team player, but she's not one of the Yellow Rangers who could lead a team on her own or even join up with another one.

4 Strongest: Tanya (Zeo, Turbo)

Tanya In Power Rangers Zeo And Turbo

Tanya joins the team when Aisha sends her to Zordon with a fragment of the Zeo crystal. She's given the choice to become the Yellow Zeo Ranger, and she takes it, but she also sticks around through the events of Power Rangers Turbo, making Tanya one of the few Yellow Rangers to be on multiple teams.

Tanya is the perfect example of someone being able to do anything they put their mind to. She works hard and excels at almost everything she attempts - and that includes going after the bad guys. She even manages to follow a set of clues to track down her parents - who have been missing for nearly a decade.

3 Weakest: Ashley (Turbo, In Space)

Ashley In Power Rangers Turbo And In Space

When four of the Turbo Rangers age out of their power, they choose four teenagers to take their place. Ashley is chosen to become the new Yellow Ranger, and she retains her Yellow Ranger status when the team goes to space to pursue a kidnapped Zordon.

Ashley, like Summer, is a great team player. She is always ready to stand up and do what's right, and she even reveals her identity to Angel Grove when Astronema forces her hand. Ashley is not, however, strong enough to take on monsters on her own or to stand up when the team leader is down. She tends to wait for other teammates to make a decision before she makes a move.

2 Strongest: Taylor ( Wild Force)

A split iamge of Taylor the Yellow Ranger in Power Rangers Wild Force in and out of her suit

Taylor is one of the first Wild Force Rangers to gain her powers and find the Animarium. With her seniority, and her commitment to fighting evil, she becomes the team leader in the absence of a Red Ranger. In fact, she leads her team for four months before they ever find the person destined to be the Red Ranger.

Taylor and Cole clash at first, but she soon realizes that as second-in-command, she's in a good position to help him rather than control him. Becoming allies, and their belief in what they're doing, is what saves the team in the end.

1 Weakest: Emily (Samurai)

Power Rangers Samurai Yellow Ranger Emily

Emily might be one of the nicest Power Rangers to exist in any timeline. She's incredibly sweet, but she's also incredibly shy. Her shyness translates to a lack of confidence in her abilities, and that's what holds her back.

Emily's sister is initially supposed to be the Yellow Ranger, but illness prevents her from taking up the samurai sword. Instead, Emily takes her place, and she struggles to adjust to the life. When she has her team backing her up, Emily can do anything, but she just needs to believe it.
