The first footage from Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon -- the upcoming original anime sequel to Inuyasha -- has surfaced online.

The short promotional clip -- which runs about 45 second in duration -- offers a look at the anime's new characters, as well as a sneak peek at the kind of action viewers can expect (though no dialogue or sound effects can be heard, with music being played over the promo instead). It was shared to the Twitter page @RanobeSugoi, which reports that additional information on Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon will be available later this coming week on Aug. 7.

Based on the beloved feudal Japan-set manga of the same name created by Rumiko Takahashi, the original Inuyasha anime ran from 2000 to 2004, with the follow-up anime Inuyasha: The Final Act running from late 2009 to early 2010. Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon picks things up several year later. The upcoming sequel follows Towa Higurashi and Setsuna, the daughters of Sesshomaru, and Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome.

Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon was announced back in May and is slated to premiere this fall. The anime is produced by Sunrise and directed by Teruo Sato, with VIZ Media handling distribution for North America and Latin America. Its main characters feature designs by Takahashi, with certain crew members from the original Inuyasha anime returning as well. Additionally, voice actors Kappei Yamaguchi and Satsuki Yukino are set to reprise their roles as Inuyasha and Kagome Higurashi, respectively.
