'Y - The Last Man #2' sells out; First two issues collected into double feature edition

Press Release

Less than two weeks after the first issue of Y - THE LAST MAN sold out at the publisher, DC Comics announces that the second issue of the critically-acclaimed series is sold out.

The stories from issues #1-2 will remain available to readers through the 64-page Y - THE LAST MAN DOUBLE FEATURE EDITION (MAY025225), scheduled to be in stores October 2, with a cover price of $5.95 U.S."Wow, this is great news," says Brian K. Vaughan, writer and co-creator of the series. "Co-creator Pia Guerra and I are extremely grateful to all the readers who asked for this second printing, and to DC/Vertigo for being so supportive of the series. I hope this will give everyone an opportunity to follow the misadventures of the last man on Earth (and his accursed monkey) from day one."

"With these issues of Y - THE LAST MAN selling out so close together, it's clear that the heat is building on the series," says Bob Wayne, DC's VP - Sales & Marketing. "A compendium edition makes the most sense in terms of getting both of these stories out there so that new readers can follow the action."

And the positive reviews of Y - THE LAST MAN keep pouring in:

"Brian K. Vaughan, Pia Guerra, and company have just put out what looks to not only be my favorite new book by VERTIGO but my favorite new monthly book launched this year." - Geoff Johns
