Classic X-Men villain Madelyne Pryor steals the spotlight in a series of covers for the Hellions finale.

To celebrate the impending resurrection of Madelyne Pryor, Hellions #18 will feature variants by some of the industry's top artists. These new images may hold clues as to what's in store for the team and the former Goblin Queen. On the cover by Philip Tan, Pryor is joined by Havok, who is the catalyst for her return. Then, Kael Ngu's variant shows Pryor emerging from the Resurrection Protocols. On Peach Momoko's cover, the resurrected villain is surrounded by an aura of death. Finally, on the variant by InHyuk Lee, she holds Cerebro within her grasp. Hellions #18 will also feature a main cover by regular series artist Stephen Segovia. Hellions #18 goes on sale Dec. 1.

The return of Madelyne Pryor coincides with the conclusion of Hellions. The series was launched in 2020 by writer Zeb Wells and artist Stephen Segovia as a home for the most dangerous mutants of Krakoa, including Havok, Mister Sinister, Psylocke, Empath, John Greycrow, Wild Child, Orphan-Maker and Nanny. In the final issue, Orphan-Maker's sins come back to haunt him and the rest of his team. As tensions rise within the Hellions, its unclear if the Hellions will be able to survive the return of one of their greatest threats.

Madelyne Pryor first appeared in 1983's Uncanny X-Men #168. Created by Chris Claremont and Paul Smith, she was introduced as a love interest to Cyclops, eventually marrying him and bearing his child. Later, during the original "Inferno" crossover, it was revealed that Madelyne was actually a clone of Jean Grey created by Mister Sinister. The echoes of this story impacted the X-Men for years and continue to this day, both in the pages of Hellions and in the current Inferno mini-series by Jonathan Hickman. Following her appearance in Hellions #18, Madelyne Pryor will go on to appear in Vita Ayala and Rod Reis' run of New Mutants, where she will begin a war with Magik to claim the throne of Limbo.

In the wake of the Hellions finale, the X-Men will start off 2022 with the dual five-issue miniseries X Lives of Wolverine and X Deaths of Wolverine. The two titles will come out on alternating weeks and will have intertwining narratives that fit into one larger whole. Both books will be written by Benjamin Percy, with art by Joshua Cassara in X Lives of Wolverine and art by Federico Vicenti in X Deaths of Wolverine. The story follows Wolverine as he travels through time on a mission to prevent the death of a key figure in mutant history. Marvel promises that these two titles will have a major impact on the X-Men moving forward, ushering in the Second Krakoan Age of X-Men. The first age of X-Men began with Hickman's House of X and Powers of X titles.

Hellions #18 hits shelves on Dec. 1.
