In the world of X-Men, the phrase "Omega-Level mutant" has been thrown around over the years, but thanks to House of X, we now know definitively who the omegas are, and with the recent Franklin Richards revelation, have confirmation that there are officially thirteen.

An omega-level mutant's powers are described as having “an undefinable upper limit” and for some, this means that they don't require any allies or assistance when they fight. However, sometimes everyone needs a little help every now and then, even the most powerful. In order from personal to global battles, these are select moments of omegas and their reinforcements.

10 Elixir: Stepford Cuckoos To The Rescue

Elixir and his changing skin

Elixir has the power of biokinesis, wherein he has the ability to manipulate a person's body on a genetic level. Basically, his powers are for helping others, and not necessarily for battle, and since his powers are on an omega-level, he does not know his limitations and he would suffer mentally when his healing would fail due to his inexperience. Fortunately, the Stepford Cuckoos were able to psionically transfer Beast's genius-level knowledge of the human and mutant bodies to Elixir, making him a better healer.

9 Quentin Quire: The Omega Gang Realized His Vision

Quentin Quire and his gang

Despite being an omega-level mutant, and even taking on the name Kid Omega, Quentin Quire still needed some backup when he decided to fully rebel against Xavier, his institution, and his ideals. Upset over finding out that he was adopted, Quentin recruited Glob Herman, Tattoo, Redneck, and Radian, they took some Kick to boost their powers and went out into the night to terrorize and kill humans, as well as some U-Men, in the name of vengeance. Quentin couldn't have done it without his Gang.

As Jamie sleeps, his reality-warping powers turn the Excalibur team into twisted, deformed caricatures of themselves. Thanks to Meggan, Psylocke puts her psi-sword through her brother's head, but Jamie is ultimately saved by Sat-Yr-9's people, who extract him to safety.

7 Vulcan: Saved From Polaris' Wrath

Polaris uses powers on Vulcan

Vulcan, aka Gabriel Summers, has had a tough life, but that's pretty on-brand for the Summers family. With his anguished past and his omega-level powers of energy manipulation, Vulcan sought revenge on the Shi'ar for everything they'd done to him. After marrying Deathbird and killing the emperor, Vulcan appoints himself emperor and fights off the X-Men. In Uncanny X-Men #486, Polaris almost takes him out with her powers of magnetism, but Deathbird swoops in at the last minute to save her beloved, allowing their escape.

6 Jean Grey: Many Early X-Men Battles

Human Torch Helps Marvel Girl against Juggernaut

While Jean Grey's omega-level mutant placement is a no-brainer now, her journey to that pantheon has been a long one as her powers were limited in the early comics. We know now that Professor X had created mental blocks to protect young Jean from being overwhelmed by her powers, but that still means that she needed a lot of help. One example being Uncanny X-Men #13, when Jean faced the Juggernaut with her telekinesis, she was lucky that the Human Torch had arrived to help.

Storm attempts suicide in the vacuum of space and is saved at the last moment by the Acanti, a cosmic race of whale-like creatures that have been enslaved by the Brood for their ability to travel faster-than-light. Thanks to their benevolence, Storm is able to rally the others to take down the Brood, free the other Acanti, and save the day.

3 Legion: Possessed By The Shadow King

David Haller as Legion using his psionic abilities

Legion is no stranger to turmoil, and even with his omega-level status, he still needs help sometimes. Especially when it comes to his father, Charles Xavier, and the Shadow King. Xavier had defeated Shadow King, so the villain decided to seek his revenge by infiltrating the mind and body of the powerful Legion, who wasn't able to expel the Shadow King himself. Xavier and the X-Men had to battle him, and they were able to defeat Shadow King, but at the cost of Legion's mind.

Hope and Wanda go up against Dark Phoenix Cyclops

In Avengers vs. X-Men, readers saw a fragmented Phoenix Force embody five different mutants until it was just Cyclops standing as he took on its full power, ultimately becoming Dark Phoenix. The only person who could save everyone was the person who was meant to become Phoenix: Hope Summers. Hope is an omega-level mutant but due to the nature of her powers, she was in need of the Scarlet Witch and her reality-warping hexes to fight Dark Cyclops and save the world, which they did.
