Krakoa's newest team of misfits known as the Hellions has recently uncovered the return of one of the X-Men's most dangerous enemies, Madelyne Pryor, who has a long and troubled history with the men in the Summers family as well as her creator, Mister Sinister.

Out of all the dangerously powerful mutants that the X-Men have dealt with over the yeas, Madelyne Pryor's various plans tend to strike a personal nerve with the X-Men due to her connection to Jean Grey and her history of atrocities she has committed against the X-Men, the world, and even the Multiverse over the years.

10 MADE A DEAL WITH THE DEVILS

Madelyne wasn't always a threat to the X-Men and even worked alongside the team while they were on the run in the Australian outback after she was abandoned by her husband Scott Summers/Cyclops.

It was there that she was first contacted by the demons S'ym and N'astirh and offered the dark power of the Goblin Queen, which she accepted while in a dream state, though she would use the power and the deal to help find her infant son, the mutant who would grow up to become the man called Cable.

9 DEVASTED A GENOSHAN FACILITY

After Madelyne was involved in a Genoshan kidnapping, she found herself taken hostage by the Press Gang and the Magistrates that worked for the island country, which was creating and exploiting mutates as slave labor.

They ran a number of tests on her due to the fact that they were unable to read her like other humans and mutants, though Madelyne's latent abilities flared up and devastated the entire facility, killing the Magistrates and scientists in the building, locking her on the dark path to the Inferno event.

8 FORMED THE SISTERHOOD OF MUTANTS

While comic fans may recognize the more famous Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Madelyne Pryor once assembled her own female team of characters that she called the Sisterhood of Mutants, which saw a couple of rosters over the years.

Lady Deathstrike, Chimera, Spiral, and the Mastermind sisters joined Pryor after she promised to resurrect someone they had lost, and she even resurrected Kwannon/Psylocke as a vengeful spirit. The ancient organism known as Arkea would later reassemble the Sisterhood, though they were defeated and disbanded, with Pryor freed to plot her inevitable return.

7 GRAVEROBBING

After Madelyne Pryor's death during the Inferno event, she attempted to return to life a number of times and even once succeeded temporarily with the help of Nate Grey/X-Man, though her psionic echo required a powerful body in order to fully return.

Since Pryor was originally a clone of Jean Grey created by Mister Sinister and brought to life by the Phoenix Force, she attempted to steal Jean Grey's body from her coffin in order to take over her body, but thankfully the X-Men were able to switch the bodies and Madelyne's return was postponed.

6 BONDED WITH THE GOBLIN FORCE

Alex Summers/Havok has a long history with Madelyne Pryor that extends across the multiverse, as he encountered another version of the character while exiled in an alternate reality during the Mutant X series.

That version was Alex's wife Madelyne Summers and the mother of their powerful mutant child Scotty, though she had also bonded with a dark entity known as the Goblin Force. The Goblin Force had destroyed and replaced the Phoenix Force and turned Madelyne into an even more powerful Goblin Queen, though she initially hid her transformation from her family.

5 TOOK OVER THE SIX

it wouldn't be long until that version of Madelyne revealed her true demonic self as the Goblin Queen, and she quickly managed to use her abilities to manipulate and control the various members of her mutant team, which was known as The Six.

While Havok was able to escape, Madelyne was able to bargain with the darkly transformed Warren Worthington III/The Fallen, coerced Hank McCoy/The Brute using fear and intimidation, and psychically controlled both Bob Drake/Ice-Man and Ororo Munroe/Bloodstorm as pawns in her plans to take over the world.

4 MURDERED THRENODY

Threnody was a mutant who had an addiction to the death energies she was able to absorb and collect within her body, though Mister Sinister was able to control her abilities and she began working for him, which eventually brought her together with Nate Grey.

However, Grey had unknowingly created a new body for Madelyne Pryor, and she eventually found Threnody and killed her after an argument between them over X-Man. Threnody's body later absorbed the death energy from the morgue and she returned, though she was now an undead vampire, forced to continue feeding off death to survive.

3 TORTURED AND ENSLAVED SINISTER'S MARAUDERS

Mister Sinister was given supervision over a problem group of mutants that included Havok, John Greycrow, Wildchild, Nanny and Orphan-Maker that was led by Kwannon/Psylocke and recently appeared in the first Hellions series.

They are sent by Sinister to shut down one of his old cloning labs at the orphanage where Havok grew up, and there they discovered that Madelyne Pryor had returned, and tortured and enslaved Sinister's cloned Marauders team, using them as her zombified attack force in her as-yet-unknown plans.

2 TRIED TO SACRIFICE HER SON

Madelyne Pryor's deal with S'ym and N'astirh involved opening a portal to Limbo using thirteen kidnapped infants and launching a demon invasion on New York City, effectively raising Hell and transforming both heroes and inanimate objects into demonic monsters.

After a final battle for the rule of Limbo's invading forces, Goblin Queen tried to sacrifice the life of her infant son Nathan Christopher Charles Summers/Cable and some of the other infants as a demonic sacrifice in order to seize power and open the portal permanently, though she was stopped by the X-Men.

1 ALMOST CONQUERED THE MULTIVERSE

In the Mutant X universe, the Goblin Entity continued to wreak havoc on the world as it seemingly bonded with that reality's Beyonder, though this was revealed to once again be Madelyne/Goblin Queen, who attempted to steal the Beyonder's power.

She tried to use her increased abilities as well as the Nexus of all Realities that existed within Havok's mind to spread her evil across the Multiverse, though Havok was able to defeat her, erase the Goblin Force from existence, and returned the freed Madelyne to her home reality before he eventually returned home as well.
