In Marvel Comics, the Hellfire Gala has become an event that lets Marvel's famous characters show off some high fashion. It's also a major crossover event allowing characters from different Marvel stories to interact. In fact, the Hellfire Gala must certainly be an event, as even actor Jon Hamm himself makes an appearance.

Many of the characters appear in outfits based in some part on their iconic costumes. There are usually a few in-jokes to the history of the characters hidden in the details and accessories. Despite this, many of the costumes are designed with all sorts of historical and cultural elements.

10 Captain America Wears An All-American Pinstripe Suit

The original Captain America, Steve Rogers wears a classic pinstripe suit at the Hellfire Gala. The outfit has a historical look to it, which makes sense, as Steve Rogers is a character known for his chronological age being slightly more than his biological one. Rogers' slicked-back hair and black tie also give him an air of formality.

Rogers' outfit also contains a red and blue motif, reflecting him as Captain America. Faded shades of colors decorate the suit. In some scenes, Rogers also wears a red and blue jacket that showcases brighter versions of the colors.

9 Emma Frost Dons A Diamond-Themed Gown

Hellfire Gala Emma Frost looks the part of a White Queen in Marvel Comics

Emma Frost is famous for her white costume, her title of the White Queen, and her ability to transform herself into diamonds. Frost appears in a dress that reflects these themes. The dress is covered in diamond-shaped cut-outs, prominently at her neckline, midriff, and even at her hips.

Emma's dress has no need for gloves, as the material covers her arms. The dress also ends in a slit that shows off Frost's boots. Befitting a "queen," gold trim is also added to the dress. The back of the dress also resembles peacock feathers. Emma pairs the look with ghostly white, platinum-blonde hair

8 Doctor Doom Favors A Regal Look

Doctor Doom dons a royal or imperial look with his Hellfire Gala outfit, down to the sash. Doom's most prominent feature is a large hooded cape that appears to be made of fur. While Doom's outfit mostly favors a green motif, there's a lot of gold trimming and accessories. Doom even wears gold boots.

Sam Wilson, once known as the Falcon, has taken on Captain America's mantle and is now showing off his Hellfire Gala outfit. Wilson appears to wearing a white shirt with a high collar, covered with a leathery black and red jacket.

Some of Wilson's accessories include a simple pair of black gloves and red, translucent sunglasses, adding a touch of 1970s chic to his formal outfit. In some artwork, Wilson's look isn't complete without his shield, which also comes in handy as a stand-out accoutrement.

6 Mary Jane Watson Is Pretty In Pink

Mary Jane Watson wears pink and white to Hellfire Gala

Always stylish, Mary Jane Watson dons a pink and white dress with a slight dragon motif. Most of Watson's long dress is white, with a pink, flame-like shape at her neckline. The dress also contains a slit on the slide which can be seen from certain angles.

Watson also dons a pair of white armbands that match her dress and a serpentine open-collar necklace. Mary Jane's most prominent feature, however, is arguably a pair of pink pumps. Interestingly, when first seen, the pink parts of MJ's dress are as red as her hair. Unfortunately, as MJ attends the Hellfire Gala under Moira MacTaggert's control, the event isn't exactly a pleasant one.

5 Gwenpool Is Apparently A Sailor Moon Fan

In a brief cameo, Gwenpool dons a costume that might look more than a little familiar to anime fan, channeling Sailor Moon herself in her outfit. Gwenpool's top has a sailor fuku-inspired collar and bow, though it cuts off at the midriff. Gwenpool also dons long white gloves and boots.

Sailor Moon's most iconic feature, her odango buns, is even included in the ensemble. One stark difference is that Gwenpool favored pink over Sailor Moon's classic colors, almost bringing to mind Sailor Chibi Moon.

3 She-Hulk Proves It's Easy To Be Green With Purple Parachute Pants

Accompanied by Black Widow and Scarlet Witch, She-Hulk is showing off her Hellfire Gala outfit -- and her muscles -- in an Adam Hughes variant cover.

She-Hulk has often dressed in the color purple, and her Hellfire Gala ensemble is no exception. After all, purple adds a nice compliment to all the green. In her alter-ego, Jennifer Walters embraces a 1980s style, highlighted most with a pair of parachute pants.

Walters also makes use of accessories, wearing purple sunglasses and a chain belt complete with her initials hanging off. While most of the characters favor boots, some of which bleed into their outfits, Walters dons a pair of white pumps.

At the Hellfire Gala, many of the characters embrace a signature color and make it work. Synch went the opposite route and embrace all of them. Interestingly, the interior of the outfit appears to be rainbow-colored, as seen in his collar. All the color is a reference to Synch's powerful aura from the comics, which often appears multicolored, now adapted to his outfit.

1 Scarlet Witch Shines Like A Star With A Celestial Motif

Wanda Maximoff's alter-ego is Scarlet Witch, so red is a requirement for her outfit. Maximoff's ensemble isn't too far off from her classic Scarlet Witch costume. Maximoff even dons a similar, if more elaborate, horned headdress.

The most prominent feature of Maximoff's outfit is a long cape, which resembles a purple, hazy sky full of stars. The cape also practically melts into Maximoff's dark hair. The look gives Maximoff an element of magic. The starry motif also appears, almost hidden, elsewhere throughout her outfit, including her heels.
