Most Marvel fans know that Scott Summers’ two great loves are Jean Grey and Madelyne Pryor. Of course, this is incredibly complicated; Jean Grey, or the Phoenix, is the original woman, while Madelyne Pryor, also known as the Red Queen or the Goblin Queen, is a clone of Jean Grey created by Mister Sinister.

This being common knowledge, most readers don’t delve much deeper into Cyclops’ love life. However, he’s had a number of other relationships and almost-relationships; he’s a flirtatious guy, and has quite a few will-they, won’t-they dynamics with other women in Marvel comics. Throughout the years, Scott has accumulated a few strange partners.

10 He Slept With Emma Frost — And Jean Got Revenge For It

Emma Frost From X-Men

New X-Men #139, by Grant Morrison and Phil Jimenez, focuses on Cyclops. It is in this issue that Scott Summers leaves the X-Men team, and where Emma Frost dies. The Phoenix threatens Emma Frost, knowing that she and Scott Summers had gotten together already. Jean Grey believes Emma did this in bad faith, that she took advantage of Scott, and so she ends up attacking Emma Frost. Because of Cyclops’ decisions, the two women end up locked in a battle that ultimately kills Emma Frost. Emma Frost, the White Queen, dies; almost ironically, Madelyne Pryor, another love of Scott’s life, is often referred to as the Red Queen or the Goblin Queen.

9 Cyclops And Colleen Wing Have An Understanding

Colleen Wing

Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s X-Men #122, also known as “Cry for the Children!”, ends with X-Men villains Juggernaut and Black Tom Cassidy hiring the hitman Arcade to finally kill the X-Men. However, Cyclops fans like this issue for other reasons — this issue shows Colleen Wing, the martial arts expert who teams up with Iron Fist, asking Cyclops out on a date.

Not only does she ask him out, Cyclops accepts, and the two of them do end up going on this date during the story. They discuss their new relationship and, after the date, Cyclops ends up walking Colleen back to her train. As she’s leaving, though, Colleen gives Scott a key to her apartment, letting him know he’s welcome to come by any time. Most fans don’t even know the two know each other, but it seems they have a deeper relationship than readers are often aware of.

8 Cyclops Thought Lee Forrester Would Be A Man

Aleytys Forrester

To celebrate Christmas, Uncanny X-Men #143’s cover reads, “Merry Christmas X-Men,” and has a story called “Demon” within its pages. Lee Forrester, also known as Aleytys Forrester, appears for the first time in this issue. This Christmas issue sees Scott Summers calling the X-Men mansion to wish everyone a merry Christmas, but only reaches a lonely Kitty Pryde. Afterwards, Scott decides to take a job as a sailor, and in doing so introduces himself to Lee Forrester, who he expects to be a man. Instead, he finds that she’s a woman, and the two of them engage in a relationship later on.

7 He Falls In Love With Wolverine’s Genetic Clone

A close up of X23

Laura Kinney is sometimes known as X-23, but more recently — and more frequently, by her own fictional preference — Wolverine. Laura was created in a failed attempt to recreate Logan Howlett, the original Wolverine, but when it didn’t go correctly, Laura, his genetic clone, was created instead.

Laura Kinney and Scott Summers got together in All-New X-Men #20, by Brian Michael Bendis, Mahmud Asrar, and Brandon Peterson. Many fans think that Scott Summers and Logan Howlett would be good together, and the fact that Laura and Scott are together is good evidence of that. Even Bobby Drake, Jean Grey, and Kitty Pryde comment on this in the pages of the comic, realizing that Scott is interested in the direct genetic clone of their friend Wolverine.

6 Scott Lied To Vileena Malafect

In Cyclops #10 by John Layman, Alexander Lozano, and Javier Garron, Cyclops has to do something he’s not entirely happy about, but something that he feels is necessary. He has to save Vileena Malafect and her entire crew, but, in doing so, he must lie to Vileena and deceive her, which breaks Vileena’s heart and enrages her, causing her to turn on Scott. While Scott lied to her and deceived her in order to save her — he never lied about his feelings for her, even if he did lie about who he was. Scott believes the ends justify the means, but Vileena doesn’t believe this quite so much. Lying to her ultimately wasn’t a great decision on Scott’s part.

5 Psylocke Had A Crush On Him

There are quite a few interesting romantic turns for Cyclops in Uncanny X-Men, and one of them comes around Uncanny X-Men Vol. 2 #8, with the story “Tabula Rasa (Part 4).” While one of the biggest scenes in the issue is between Psylocke and Magneto, there are moments between Cyclops and Psylocke as well, including one in which Psylocke indicates that she’s attracted to Cyclops. It’s unsurprising, seeing that women are apparently falling over themselves to have a piece of Cyclops, but nobody can ever end up holding a candle to anyone like Jean Grey for Scott.

4 Even Domino Was Once Interested In Cyclops

In the story “The Man From Room X,” written by Grant Morrison with art by Leinil Francis Yu, Domino and the X-Men end up in Hong Kong — though they don’t often cross over in such a way. Ao Jun, a Chinese army officer, is trying to sell Kuan-Yin Xorn, a mutant, and Domino has arrived to stop it, having the X-Men come to join her.

Domino and Cyclops interact and have to work together — at which point even Domino reveals that she’s attracted to Cyclops, something that many women before her and many women after will apparently admit to. There’s a lot more going on, and they don’t really pursue anything, but still, it feels slightly out of left field.

3 Cyclops Forgot His Feelings For Frenzy

Frenzy x men

The event “Age of X,” created by Mike Carey, Mirco Pierfederici, Clay Mann, and Steve Kurth, explored what would happen in a strange alternate reality where the X-Men had never been formed. The event ultimately goes to show that, without the X-Men, there’s nobody willing to keep peaceful relations between humans & mutants, and things escalate to astronomical levels. In this alternate reality, Frenzy (or Joanna Cargill) has feelings for Cyclops, and the two of them are in a relationship.

She chooses to keep these memories afterwards, while Cyclops chooses to erase his memories, ending their relationship and effectively forever forgetting his feelings for her. However, because she kept her memories, she ends up deciding to join the X-Men, so Cyclops is part of the reason she ultimately decides to go good.

2 Cyclops And Storm Made Out On A Comic Book Cover

As if the X-Men didn’t date each other often enough, Cyclops can’t seem to stop dating members of the X-Men team, even in alternate realities. Like his relationship with Frenzy in the “Age of X” reality, Cyclops has another relationship with a different existing Marvel character in Astonishing X-Men Vol. 3 #44 — and, this time, he’s dating even closer to home. In this issue, by Greg Pak and Mike McKone, Storm needs Cyclops’ special help for a mission she’s currently on. In this alternate reality, the two of them kiss — something that fans don’t believe would ever really happen in the main X-Men timeline. It’s likely that Ororo Munroe wouldn’t ever kiss Scott in the 616 timeline unless strictly necessary.

1 Agent Hill Thinks Cyclops Is Cute

Apparently Scott Summers is completely irresistible, since countless women are always falling all over themselves for him. In 2014’s Uncanny X-Men Vol. 3 #20, by Brian Michael Bendis and Chris Bachalo, Cyclops and the X-Men take on S.H.I.E.L.D., as many characters have before them; Cyclops knows that S.H.I.E.L.D. is harboring those responsible for the dangerous Sentinels that came after the X-Men. However, in the process of doing so, he interacts with characters like Maria Hill, who are attracted to Cyclops on sight.
