Following the news of Halo Infinite being delayed until 2021, Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox Series X will go on sale in November.

"There will be thousands of games to play, spanning four generations, when Xbox Series X launches globally this November and over 100 optimized for Xbox Series X titles, built to take full advantage of our most powerful console, are planned for this year," Xbox Wire Editor-in-Chief Will Tuttle wrote. "And with brand new console features like hardware-accelerated Direct X raytracing, framerates up to 120 frames per second, faster loading times, and Quick Resume for multiple games, playing will look and feel better, no matter which games you choose to play on day one."

News of the Xbox Series X release window comes hot on the heels of leaked images seemingly confirming the existence of Series S, a lower-priced, lower-powered counterpart to the next-gen console.

While Microsoft has yet to officially confirm the Xbox Series S, a representative from the company alluded to it in December, saying, "The name we’re carrying forward to the next generation is simply Xbox. And at The Game Awards you saw that name come to life through the Xbox Series X." In a separate statement, the rep elaborated on this clarification noting, "Similar to what fans have seen with previous generations, the name ‘Xbox Series X’ allows room for additional consoles in the future."
