Four of Marvel's X-Men are about to go on a grindhouse-influenced trip involving blood, sweat and revenge in a new five-issue limited series, X-Terminators.

Marvel announced that X-Men's Dazzler, Jubilee, Wolverine and Boom-Boom will all star in X-Terminators, which comes from writer Leah Williams (X-Factor, Trial of Magneto) and artist Carlos Gómez (Amazing Spider-Man Beyond). The series is said to be influenced by grindhouse films, meaning fans can expect it to be full of all kinds of bloodshed and exploitation. The synopsis reads, "In typical X-Men fashion, what starts as a wild night out gets even crazier when Jubilee, Boom-Boom, and Dazzler and kidnapped and put into elaborate death traps by a mysterious new army of enemies. What are three fierce mutants with the power to blow things up to do? Expect a hardcore, neon-fueled, down and dirty type of adventure unlike any seen before in X-Men history with all the light blasts, fireworks, time bombs, and brawling you can possibly hope for!"

X-Men meets Grindhouse in Marvel's X-Terminators

"I'm excited about how gleefully transgressive this book is -- it's sexy, stupid, and chaotic," Williams said. "One of my favorite moments in the making-of this book was Jordan [D. White] asking, 'What do you think...Parental Advisory for this book? Or just T+?...I am leaning PA." Gómez added, "I'm eager to be working on X-Terminators with Leah! She's an incredible writer and always delivers fun and engaging stories and this title is no exception! Did I mention it's action-packed? Also, X-Men has been one of my favorite series, and it's always cool to be back in the X-Family."

The X-Terminators was the name for the original X-Force roster -- Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Angel and Iceman. The X-Force group eventually gave up the name but passed it on to a new group of mutants they gathered together during the time they operated as X-Terminators -- Boom-Boom, Rusty Collins, Artie Maddicks, Rictor, Morlocks, Skids and Leech. In 1988's X-Terminators series by Louise Simonson and Jon Bogdanove, the X-Terminators team up with the New Mutants in order to stop the demon N'astirh from opening a portal to Limbo in downtown Manhattan.

More recently, 2021's Cable Reloaded -- by Al Ewing, Bob Quinn, Java Tartaglia and VC's Joe Sabino -- saw the restoration of the X-Terminators, who quickly dubbed themselves the All-New X-Terminators. Formed to help Nathan Dayspring break into Breakworld, the new roster included Cannonball, Boom-Boom, Wiz-Kid, Khora of the Burning Heart and Lila Cheney.

X-Terminators #1 comes from Williams and Gómez, with cover art by Federico Vicentini. The issue goes on sale July 6.
