"X-Men" franchise veteran Famke Janssen is set to star in a planned spinoff of NBC's hit crime drama "The Blacklist."

Deadline reports the network will take the "planted spinoff" approach, with the May 12 episode of "The Blacklist" serving as the pilot of the potential new series. Janssen's character, Susan "Scottie Halsted," will be introduced a week earlier, in the May 5 episode.

According to the website, NBC will likely decide in May whether it will move forward with the spinoff. It's been rumored that "Blacklist" regular Ryan Eggold would have a major role in the potential series.

Janssen, who returned to the "X-Men" franchise for a cameo in 2014's "Days of Future Past," has a recurring role on ABC's "Who to Get Away With Murder." Before that she starred on Netflix's fantasy thriller "Hemlock Grove."
