X of Swords recently kicked off with X of Swords: Creation #1, followed by this week's X-Factor #4. Now, Marvel has released a trailer for the X-Men crossover's 11th installment, X of Swords: Stasis #1 --and it reveals new information about the Swordbearers of Arakko's powers.

Marvel posted the trailer to their Twitter. The caption simply reads, "Beware the Swordbearers of Arakko. Meet the X-Men's newest foes in "X of Swords: Stasis" #1, Part 11 of the epic X-Men crossover, on sale this October!"

Wolverine's new nemesis, Solem, was revealed to have adamantium skin. The White Sword from X-Men #12 is labeled as an "ancient Okkaran healer," while Isca the Unbeaten is ominously titled "cursed to win." Red Root the Forest's introduction reads "field of decay," Bei the Blood Moon is the "Silent Commander" and the Summoner is an "invulnerable warrior." War has a "sentient flame" and Death has a "death stare." Neither Pogg-ur-Pogg nor Annihilation's powers were revealed, with Annihilation's introduction box notably being blacked out.

Pepe Larraz, the artist behind the issue said, "The swordbearers had to look as dangerous as possible. They had to tell a story of fighting for survival over a millennia; a story of ancient times, deadly violence and a brutal kind of beauty." Larraz continued, "In designing them, I mixed elements inspired by Egyptian culture, Laamb (Senegalese fighting), Donga (Ethiopian spear fighting), Nuba body-paint, postmodern minimal fashion, Thierry Le Goues’ photography, Maori weaponry, and biomimicry, among other things. Well, and a giant crocodile with four arms…"

X of Swords: Stasis #1 is written by Jonathan Hickman and Tini Howard, with art by Pepe Larraz and Mahmud Asrar. The issue hits shelves on Oct. 28.
